Um, JC was the one saying the game would be luckily to draw 20,000, but MH was bragging about when we met in the Championship game and they beat us if i'm not mistaking so JC he told you off.

This is the sports Bd, correct? I wasn't criticizing SU or FAMU. I was being realistic with my 20K prediction. My point was with the game being played on Saturday would limit Bama St and A&M fans from attending. If it had been played on Sunday, it would attract a greater crowd.

Jag-BR do you think SU will bring 10K? I doubt FAMU will.

About the Jacksonville St game in Montgomery. It shouldn't have been scheduled or played at 1 pm in September. I guess their few fans planning to attend want to get out Montgomery before nightfall. :quiet: A&M made the right move in dropping their arse.

Yes I think we will, FAMU should bring a nice fan support also. You worry about putting butts in the stands against Jacksonville State and stop worrying about FAMU and SU.

Im kinna interested in why you think SU and FAMn can't bring 10k each....and, why you think A&M and BamaSt. crowds are needed for nice size crowds.

With as much interest that's building for this game...Im thinking the game would do well without anyone from the whole state of Alabama attending.

:)

It was said to me when I cover last years 2006 MEAC-SWAC Challenge between Hampton vs Grambling.......I think it was about 11,500 in the house??

I asked around the stadium and asked where everyone was..........

I was told the unless it was the Magic City Classic or AAMU or Alabama State playing someone in Legion field that the support would be very low.......

I know the people are true to their schools...
But dang....what about love and support to a HBCU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is in your backyard....

They should have kept the upper deck, but the stadium sitll looks nice. I can't wait to get there!!

Grambling or Hampton doesn't have fanbases. DO you remember the first Swac Championship SU vs JSU in 99. Certain schools brings crowds. SU vs Famu will have a very nice crowd, just wish it wasn't in the heat of the day.

The scheduling and timing of this game are critical for its growth. For this game to be successful it needs the complete black college fan base in the proximity. The planners knew this but couldn't work out a deal to play it on Sunday. I'm sure SU and FAMU will bring nice crowds.

You guys are "Testy and Defensive". We still got 80 plus days to kick off. :flippy::flippy::flippy:

Actually, Im neither. I just wanna know your logic behind it. I could give two ishts about the turnout. Give me the Jukebox and a chance at seeing a decent game..and, Im straight.

So, unless there's a hurricane in the area...or, he!!a bad weather the whole week....I just don't see a FAMn/SU game having the same turnout as a Gram/Hampton game ( :vomit: ). Heck, IMO, it's a borderline insult to both school's history of good turnouts in this matchup to think otherwise.

I know, and I hope the hurricanes stay away. This is not the only game I am going to, It's all of them. If one hurricane or bad weather miss this one, then the hurricanes and the bad weather has to miss the whole season. :D :D You know what I mean?

Co-Sign. SU and FAMU games have done well attendance wise over the years. I hate we stopped playing them in the ATL. Those were some nice games in the 90s. I tell you what really would be nice, is to play them in Mobile.

We will know on 1 Sep if the numbers will surpass the previous SWAC/MEAC Challenge games.

I agree on Mobile being a perfect fit for the FAMU/SU rivalry. Mobile is also a natural for FAMU and Bama State. Hopefully soon, the GCC will feature the Hornets and Rattlers in matchups in the port city.
