Sounds to me like you may need to change your church. You're sitting there equating a passage about denying God to Obama resigning from a church.

In the same manner that you would disiplne your own child harder than you would your neighbors, In the same manner that you expect your child to be better than every other child in the spelling bee contest, we do and should expect and hold our own to a higher standard. You think that if they had not made such an issue about it during the last few months or so that he would have still removed himself from membership?

I personally didnt disagree with what or how the precahers said what they said. I dont think its anything to be ashamed of, but IMO for Obama leave the church right now raises my eyebrow as far as his public reason for leaving.

It says nothing, however, to me about his skills as a president. It makes me question his character a little. But Ive noticed something about the past 3 presidents and there character - it really doesnt have shat to do with being the PRESIDENT.

As for you not believing him telling the truth, be mature enough to understand that's all it is, your beliefs, you, I, and no one else knows the truth about it other than the Obama family and God.

I fear that, in 2008, too much is still required of African Americans inorder to be "acceptable" members and leaders of this society. Obama is given the impossible task of proving that everyone around him is more American than apple pie. In case we didn't know, everyone around Jesus was not an angel. Nor were those who Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, and others associated with "pure". If we are going to put Obama's relationships under a microscope we should do the same for all.

How about you be mature enough to know that the whole quiting the church thing was a bunch of crap to save face. I am not so out of touch with reality that I cant see the stuff when I see the stuff.

I agree that we should hold them all to that same standard, however because many before him skated into office, we should lower the standard that we have for politicians?

Do you mean like this good brother that has his head on straight and tells it like it is. Alan Keyes is the type of brother we should be supporting and I wish Obama had the courage to stand up for whats right. As you can see, people could care less about moral issues and yet they wonder why their jobs are being shipped overseas and why the economy is in the shape its in. If they don't care about God's way of living, then why should God care about their way of living......that simple.

Brother, I don't play when it comes to my soul or the blessings that flow from the Father. I have enough sense to know why I'm breathing and enjoying life. I don't control those things therefore I'd be a fool to take credit for something I didn't do. God gives the increase and just as fast as he gave it, he can take it. Its a pleasure to listen to people who speak truth and not foolishness, regardless of race. It confirms there are God fearing people who refuse to live by the worlds standards. Everything is right and wrong with God and there are no in betweens. Jesus is the example we are to follow and when you get away from him, then you're just another lost soul. Whats my point? I don't get caught up in myself and neither will I in the world.
