Obama for President?

But what can you expect from a voter base that stand side by side with a group of people that see them as second class citizens and a bunch of dummies and have entirely no need for them until there's some qualified black person that's about to take a seat away from them.

LOL

Hammer, plus nail...on the head.

Typical black republican, their thought process is so screwed up until they actually believe the crap that spew.

It's called, "21st Century Modern Uncle Toms serving their republican white masters". After the election, I can hear them now, "Weez sick boss?"

Serving masters? Wouldn't that be the people that are blindly loyal to a group that does not acknowledge or even work for their vote, simply because they know they have you in perpetual servitude? As they say, those in bondage, rarely even know it. Some of you are so locked into voting for the Dems that they don't even have to play the music for you anymore, you will shuck, jive, and dance a jig anyway. So, who is really seen as a second class citizen, "serving their white masters"?

Blue, I am glad that you and your liberal friends had time to put down the rainbow flags for a minute and come over here and debate for a minute. I am sure the passage of Prop 8 is keeping you up at night.....

This is the typical conservative Negro’s response. Even though they have a closet full of those colorful rainbow flags, they‘ll use any diversion tactic to save their master’s house.

Like I said before, the Republicans make good use car salesmen. They sold the American public a pile of crap for the last 8 years.

Typical repeat master propaganda slang. Why am i a liberal? Because your master says so or because you're ASSUMING that I'm a black democrat and that's what your master says the definition is?

Riddle me this... if 70% of the black population of California vote for the passage of prop 8 in a democratic state, does that means they're liberal or conservatives?

Or do you have to ask your master which is which before you speak?

OK, so now we can talk some policy, and not the simple minded insults of intraracial slang and labeling each other master and slave....at least I think that is where this conversation is going. I never know with some of you dems. When you are pushed against a wall, all you have is the typical uncle tom, insults, which is evident above......

But in case we are going to have a real discussion, here is my stance

I have said in many occasions that black people are more conservative than any in this country. As a culture, we are not liberal, except in terms of our cival rights. We are not liberal in terms of religion, marriage, sexuality, finances, government, or family. And I think that the passage of Prop 8 is an even greater justification of my beliefs, which is why I find it even harder to understand the blind loyalty that some of us have to the democratic party. The fact that 70% voted against Prop 8 tells me that black people are very conservative, yet we will often vote a liberal agenda, simply because that agenda is one driven by the democratic party. I think that is a serious contradiction. But one we all have the right to have. And we all have some contradictions in our political stance, regardless of if we side with the left or the right.

I think that when faced with an issue like Prop 8, one that is not tied to any political party at all, but just a pure bipartisan issue, the conservative mentality of african americans is revealed. Yet many will not label themselves conservatives, simply for the typical backlash that may come their way from other black folks. And I think white folks do the same. In this election, southern whites in some circles supported McCain because it was the "thing to do", and it wasn't popular to support Obama in the South, even if they wanted to. It was the same with us and supporting Obama. If a black man did not support Obama, he was seen as some type of traitor. Contradictions go both ways......

Did I answer your "trick" question well enough for you blue? My master is and will always be my mind. Unlike many, I try to use it to form my own opionion. Sometimes that opion agrees with the masses, sometimes it does not. Either way, I stand behind what I think and how I feel. Just my nature.......typical calls of slave, master, uncle tom, any any other nonsense, never sways me in any manner.

Great Post Suge

in fact, I am very conservative in alot of my views but I do have some liberal views as well. Therefore I don't claim either party as mine. I consider myself a centrist and I believe that both parties need each other, to keep a certain type of balance. The problem with the Republican party is 'exclusion'. They talk down to people with unbelievable arrogance. I have family members who call themselve Republicans so I do understand both sides. The thing is...untill Republicans SHOW an intolerance to the confederate flag, these hillbillies in the south that still hate blacks progressing, lableing blacks as lazy, and on welfare you will not get blacks to support you....Simple as that. I do think though after this election and the Obama Presidency we will see a shift in the voting patterns of blacks simply because more people will really be tuned in to politics and the choices made by their government.

Suge -

I agree with you 100% here -- Black folks are EXTREMELY conservative. For the most part, we belive in ...

Religion (that OLD time Religion)
Law & Order
Education
Corporal Punishment

... and the list goes on.

The problem with us becoming Republicans in any large number is, while the Republicans claim to be for that same list of things, they are also against some things as well ... specifically Civil Rights and Inclusion.

More importantly, when this country had to make a moral decision on Civil rights, the Republican party chose to stand against Civil Rights and this choice continues to make Black folks distrustful. If you look at the kind of politics that the Republicans played in this last election, it illustrates the case in point. The lack of respect that Blacks receive in the Republican Party is a whole 'nother discussion point along the same lines.

This discussion is actually a Master's Thesis waiting to happen but I don't have the time to write it and you don't have the time to read it. Bottom line -- I feel you on the conservative thing but the Republicans have to convince me that my presence in their party would be respected.

Blacks were Republicans at one time. What folks have to realize is the Republican Party made a drastic change after the 1940's. When the Democratic Party became more inclusive, this allowed Strom Thurmond and his racist buddies to leave the Democratic Party and start the Dixiecrat Party. Once they realized that the Dixiecrat Party wasn't going to be successful, they abandoned it and took over the Republican Party, which places the Republican Party with an agenda full of racism.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it was you that brought up the Uncle Tom issue and when asked to show proof of me bringing it up, you went on the typical insecure black republican rant about what you assumed.

But in case we are going to have a real discussion, here is my stance

I have said in many occasions that black people are more conservative than any in this country. As a culture, we are not liberal, except in terms of our cival rights.

I really don't want to say this suge, but there's no other way for me to say it.

That's some dumb shiddd you just said there. How does wanting to have the same privileges as any other white American in this country make you have liberal views?

Now I can understand a white racist republican feeling that way about white democrats wanting black to have the same equal rights, because we all know the majority of them don't, but how the hell you're going to look another black man in the face and tell him "you're a liberal because you want to be treated equal as white"?

First and foremost, you have the same problem most black republicans have. You buy into the name game like a group of ghetto fabulous women at a flea market sale.

For the most part you never hear black democrats refer to themselves as liberals, you only hear that kind of dumb rhetoric coming form the mouth of white republicans and their black republicans counter parts, that use that line to divert attention from the fact that they're the ones who follow their party like a bunch of mindless drones, even though that party has openly shown over and over that they don't respect them and only call on them when they feel they can use them to defeat another BLACK person or give the false impression that they are inclusive. (like the perpetual lone black guy in the crowd)

First of all, black people have never label themselves anything, that's your biggest problem, (refer back to buying the name game ).

Secondly nobody thought they were a traitor because somebody black voted for McCain, just either dumb as hell or another negro still afraid to buck the white man

What it really sounds like you are is the typical person just looking for attention, so you work as hard as you can to be different, but the harder you try the more you're the same

Great discussion by some, typical discussion by others......

Ready for the next debate, I am sure that we all have some opinions on this new stimulus package, and the bailout.

Who are you now, some self-proclaimed debate moderator for Black folks? Where were you the last 8 years when some serious discussion was needed to stop the economic train wreck that this country is now experiencing? Right now, the last thing Black folks need is some outdated Negro who has agreed with the previous administration telling them that their choice for President was wrong. If you really have an opinion about the economy, please visit our new President's website and voice your opinion. In case you are not able to navigate the net, here's the web address for Obama's agenda on the economy: http://change.gov/agenda/economy_agenda/. Please read and submit your ideals. This is what being inclusive and true democracy is all about, which restores the true meaning of freedom and the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in his I have a dream speech, "Let Freedom Ring". It's time to make Dr. King's dream a reality.
