Obama campaign said Ludacris should be ashamed of the lyrics

Technically, Clinton lost the white vote in both elections. He got elected on the strength of the black and latino vote.

Clinton won the south. The south didn't have as many latino's as it does now back in the 90's. White folks are the majority in this country. You can add up all the latino's and blacks in this country and you still couldn't win without 60% of the white vote. I guess I should say white women. If Gore had won at least one Southern State he would have won the election.

You are funny my friend. One thing I do understand is life. You can't change a leopard?s stripes buddy. It's not going to happen. Maybe in a fake world, but not in this one. I find it funny that white folks say they hate Bill Clinton, yet they voted for him 4 to 1.

You dont under politics, it is a fake world.

Think about marketing a product.

He's has hurt the Obama campaign. :smh: He needs to chill until after the election. It takes the Obama campaign off message while McSame is attempting to define Barack as the Boogie man. He already has the Ludacris crowd. He needs white voters to win the election and Ludacris will be used to define Obama my the right and their ilk.

My point exactly...Everybody chill the hell out until after the election!!!!

Cee,

It's important that Obama stays on message. This is a distraction and you know it.

LOL, Next time we will see Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Ludacris in a McSame attack ad.

But it is not those folks who are not going to vote for him anyway you have to worry about - you never had em so its no big thing - it's those undecides that issues like this will sway one way or another. Obama's numbers are stagnant right now while McCain is making small inroads into his leads - while Obama cant "play not to lose" by the same token he has to continue to play middle ground so he does not lose Independants and undecided voters.

If you dont see the problem with the song, YOU DONT UNDERSTAND POLITICS!!!

You don't understand politics.

All of these things are used against Obama.

I agree with all of these posts. What Luda is saying may be true, but there's a time and a place for this. Now is not the time. A lot of people are on the fence about who to vote for, and just the slightest little thing might push them in the wrong direction. Obama can't win this election just on the votes of blacks and latinos. He needs a good chunk of the white vote as well.

I agree, this really isn't the time or the place. You really don't want to give the "swiftboaters" any ammunition to hit you with. It wouldn't suprise me one bit if they find some kind of way to bring our good friend Jeremiah Wright back up.

If you dont see the problem with the song, YOU DONT UNDERSTAND POLITICS!!!

I am one that did not see a problem with the song. I understand politics very well. Like I said before, if one is going to vote for Obama, a song is not going to change that. Now if someone says that after they heard the song, they are not voting for Obama; they were not going to vote for him anyway.

Why does one have to wait to speak their truth? When do you propose that he speak his truth? After the election? That would not work either because he will not get re-elected.

It is sad that people form their opinion (s) about another person based on what someone else says.

Thank you for saying that. They keep saying folks are on the fence, well when those folks on the fence see this economy get worst than what it is their azz will run to the polls for Barack. If folks want to be stupid and vote for Mccain because of a rap song, they better prepare themselves for what's coming next. If you think crime is bad now get ready. Folks in the ghettos can only steal from each other for so long and please don't holla about a gun, because a broke, desperate, hungry, down on his luck person doesn't care when he reaches the end of the road. It's gonna be you or him.

I agree that it's sad that some people form their opinion about another person based on what someone else says, but guess what, it happens. And people like that go to the voting booth and vote just like the rest of us, and their vote counts just as much as anyone else's. I don't necessarily disagree with the lyrics of the song, but what it does is create another distraction for Obama and puts him on the defensive, and gets plastered all over the media which can influence some of those people that are on the fence. Is Obama supposed to say, "Yeah, I agree that Hillary is a bitch and that the only time McCain is supposed to be in a chair is if he's paralyzed?" We all know he can't publicly agree with those lyrics or anything remotely close to that and still expect him to get elected. Let's face it, white people have us greatly outnumbered, and Obama needs all the white votes he can get.

You dont based on what you said. Take a marketing course - you will learn how people are manipulated to purchase a products everyday. Second, Americans are not to bright. Third, does "Pet Rock" mean anything to you? Good Marketing.

jGot dayum it I'm tired of us having to step and fetch and watch what you say to and about white folks! This is 2008 and we still are not allowed to be men. Hell Obama ain't a warrior by no stretch of the imaganation, but he has to be careful not to offend people as half a man. Hateful people are trying to find every reason they can to camolfogue their real reason for not voting for him. This is 2008 and too many of us are still scared of the white man. If Obama is luck enough to get into the White House lukewarm then he's going to be a lukewarm president and then we will be sit back 100 years, because they will say a black man is not strong enough to be president. I've had professors who would curse someone out in a minute, but I've had others who could berate someone so with their intellectual verbage that they would have rather been cursed out. If Obama has to lose his soul and his manhood to get in the White House, woe unto us!!!!

Sorry about the rant, but Fannie Lou Hamer's quote just hit me in the head!!!

It is sad, but its life in America and the world.

Look at the war in Iraq, more than 50% of americans believe Saddam H. had something to do with 9/11. Its has nothing to do with TRUTH. Shrub sent his staff out to do the association, while he never said it, but his staff did. NO TRUTH, but americans believe its true.

Good rant.

You have to play politics to win. America is made up of many different people and you have to gain the majority of the voting public (white, yellow, black etc..) to win.

Cosign!! Olde Hornet, you speak the truth. It's common sense really, but sometimes common sense ain't too common.

Some of you have lost site of real life in trying to follow politics. Obama is BLACK....let me say it again..........BLACK.

Its common sense that these types of thing would hurt a candidate. In any other race these things would make huge differences. But in this race alot more people have made their decision already. There aren't as many on the fence as you're counting on. What they get out of things like this Ludacris song is a reason to justify what they were already going to do. They don't have to pretend like their having and open mind. They may say a whole bunch on these polls but the polling booth will be a different story.

I believe thats one reason Obama is not way ahead in the polls. There are many that have their minds made up despite the issues. If you ever see him with some gigantic lead somebody is probably lieing. Honestly if this song switches peoples minds then just about anything having to do with blacks will switch their minds and Obama is not going to escape that. Fox already took a shot in that direction a couple of months ago with "Obama's baby mama".

You all can save that politics mess for someone else. I live in reality. White folks who don't want to vote for Obama will not vote for him. There is nothing he can do to change their views. When you are breed with a hate or a dislike for someone it is in you regardless of how you try to cover it. Let me give you an example. In my line of work I travel and deal with nothing but repubs from the south, east coast, west coast and mid-west. All these military type guys will not vote for a democrat regardless of what he says or does. Just last night at dinner one of these fools said "The Demo's want the office so bad he isn't surprised that they haven't tried to hurt Bush, Cheney (sp) or better yet McCain. They (a group of 20) stated that McCain better be careful, because its McCain that needs the extra security not Obama because the Demos are going to do anything they can to win.:xeye:This is a prime example of how you can't change a dang fool like this opinion. They have it made up in their minds basically because they are breed to hate anything that to them is not pure American such as a white boy. They don?t really read they just go by what someone else said. They say Obama is going to kill every defense contract in the country. :xeye:These cats spread lies whether Luda makes a record or not. You can?t stop them. It is born in them and passed down generation to generation. These folks believe in the fear factor. They have used it since they came to this country.

If we just get our collective azzes up and vote (and yes, I'm talking about my demographic 25-30), it won't matter what Luda said.

To me, that's the main point from the song!

It not enough of young voters to win a national election. The 55 and over crowd will decide this election and they ain't listening to Ludacris . In fact Ludacris and other hip hoppers are an anathema to this generation. Over time this will change.

Reality can be ibtch.

Cee, in using the example you have giving, you just illustrated one of the first fundamentals of running for office - and pretty much what I said earlier...you have "your" voters - those that you know are going to support you regardless..you have "those" voters - those that regardless of what you do/say, they are not going to support you...and you have the "other" voters - those that dont know if they are yours or those - that's where your concentration lies - shoring up "yours" and bringing in as many as the "others". "Those" voters are a waste of your time and energy so you dont focus on "those". The group you spoke of are "those".

Until someone has won - you can't take anything for granted and any so-called bad press just tarnishes Obama. I am sure your family has told you that you have to be 10 times a better than a white man just to be seen on level footing, the same thing applies here. I dont think anyone is disputing what Luda said - but there is a time for that and there is a mechanism for everything. And THAT's the reality of it all. If it aint - hell Obama would just wrap his arms around Rev Wright like they are the best of friends and take him on every stop with him. You gotta know how to play the game. Once you WIN the game - then you can change the rules of the game.

I dont have to prove to you that I understand politics and the world that we live in. I am never manipulated into purchasing anything. If I purchase something, it is because that is what I really wanted to do but used the marketing and good sales person as an excuse.

Let's look at it this way. I voted for Hillary Clinton during the primaries. I guess some would say that I am on the fence. Would that song encourage me to vote for or against Obama? No. By hearing this song, would I feel obligated to vote for McCain? H*ll No. I look at what have you done while a senator. What bills have you sponsored and co-sponsored? Are your ideals compatible to mine?

I was actually on the fence to start out with because I am not affiliated with neither of the two largest political parties.

Don't make the assumption that a person does not know or understand politics because they do not agree with you or your thoughts.

Here are the lyrics...

Lyrics after the jump.

I'm back on it like I just signed my record deal
Yeah the best is here, the Bentley Coup paint is dripping wet, it got sex appeal
Never should have hated
You never should've doubted him
With a slot in the president's iPod Obama shattered 'em

Said I handled his biz and I'm one of his favorite rappers
Well give Luda a special pardon if I'm ever in the slammer
Better yet put him in office, make me your vice president
Hillary hated on you, so that bitch is irrelevant

Jesse talking slick and apologizing for what?
If you said it then you meant it how you want it have a gut!
And all you other politicians trying to hate on my man,
watch us win a majority vote in every state on my man

You can't stop what's bout to happen, we bout to make history
The first black president is destined and it's meant to be
The threats ain't fazing us, the nooses or the jokes
So get off your ass, black people, it's time to get out and vote!

Paint the White House black and I'm sure that's got 'em terrified
McCain don't belong in any chair unless he's paralyzed
Yeah I said it cause Bush is mentally handicapped
Ball up all of his speeches and I throw 'em like candy wrap
'cause what you talking I hear nothing even relevant
and you the worst of all 43 presidents

Get out and vote or the end will be near
The world is ready for change because Obama is here!
'cause Obama is here
The world is ready for change because Obama is here!

Watched it on youtube last night. He used Young Bucks' Get Buckinstrumental. Like someone said, where did Luda lie? (shrugs shoulders) I saw Hannity and Colomes(sp) last night and Hannity is an a--hole! Hannity said his kids doesn't listen to Luda. Mike Brown said more whites buy hip hop and he(Brown) bets his friends kids listen to Luda. I was :lmao:

That's exactly how it should be. That's the logical way of deciding who to vote for, but unfortunately, there are a lot of people that don't think like this when they vote. Some of these people are so wishy washy, and they can sway either way depending on which way the wind is blowing that day. That's how Bush got re-elected for a 2nd term. Obama doesn't need any distractions, and that's what this song is. He needs all the votes he can get.

Yeah I saw that last night also. Hannity really HATES Obama. I mean he talked bad to the white chick that was filling in for Colmes. It is just funny how they have an "expert" to give his opinion and it isn't objective at all. You have Newt Gingrich on there spouting off and talking about Obama like the guy is going around saying I AM JESUS!

P.S. It is amazing to me how Fox puts weight into these disgraced politicians as if what they say is gospel. Why in the world is Karl Rove on anybody's tv giving his opinion about what should or shouldn't be done???? U were a part of the Bush corruption and you have the audacity to come on tv and self-righteously criticize somebody else??? Get the ufck out of here!

Topdog,

Some of the posters on this thread are acting like the three bros in St Pete today.

You got to get to the table to make changes. Figuring out how to get there is the challenge.

Your statement is why black folks will always be divided. Why can't black folks think differently? Your view is your view. Ours is ours. I guess that's how they got all trained though.
