Obama's problem is that he really has never had a Democratic congress to work with. The Republicans will stick together no matter what the vote is on. The last thing that a White southern Democrat wants to be labled as is a Liberal. It's time for the Democrats to do the same thing to the term Conserative. Let's face it during his presidency Ronald Reagan was also one of the most hated men in America.

I agree with you. The president is doing his best with what he has to work with. The democrats did not go out in full force for the midterms and some of them hasn't stuck with him on major bills since his elections. Now, some of the dems are trying to cry foul. They need to sit their butts down. The president would not have had to compromise if they would have growns some balls when he was first elected. I stand firmly behind Mr. President. He had to make a tough decision and the repubs are all he had to work with right now. All this is the fault of the democrats and independences who voted for repubs or tea party folk, or didn't vote at all.

Dems held the house and senate. Still do for a few weeks. I am a BIG Obama supporter. He has accomplished more than the public generally knows. I heard a list. It is amazing.
Now, this great campaign communicator is one of the worse communicators as president. He controlled the house and senate yet he did whimp out on things for no cause. It seems he wants persons to like him who will hate him regardless.
I do not think he had to give as much as he did in this deal.
Palin better than him...She is an idiot. People are forgetting that.
If he is treated as any other president, he will be re-elected. He does need to man up.

This country went from a lender nation to borrowing money from China............

.........and you know what's the cause of all of this; unfair trade practices and tariffs. If Congress had the guts to place fair tariffs on goods made in countries with labor that borders on pennies a day (that coumpanies then sell in this country based on the American market rates), so that the cost would be then be comparable to a product produced in this country, then the workers here could better compete. More goods would be produced here, leading to more jobs, leading to a bigger tax base, leading to more tax revenue, a stronger middle class, lower credit card interest rates, etc., etc. The manufacturing and production jobs being lost due to this are not, and will not, be replaced with comparable wage jobs in the service industry that this nation's economy in rapidly becoming.

Look at some of the bills at the following link and see how much money is being loss by this country due to the tariff agreements being passed. It's sad. Congress is arguing the wrong "t".

Wrong again son, the US government first started taxing the income of its citizens in 1862 to support the Union in the Civil War. Aren't you glad the government taxed the income of its citizens back then? If they wouldn't have we still would have been slaves. In 1913, the 16th Amendment made income tax part of the constitution. Both Democrats and Republicans have played a part in this mess we are in, but these damn Republicans have made things 10 times worse with tax cuts and expansion of government all at the same time. See Bill Clinton adopted the 'Pay As You Go' approach which made a hell of a lot of sense. If you couldn't pay for it then don't put that shyt in a bill. As soon as GWB took office 'Pay As You Go' went out the damn window and look at the debt. This country started its downward spiral under the great Ronald Reagan. This country went from a lender nation to borrowing money from China under his watch. Not only that, his ‘War on Drugs’ policies was put into place to pad the pockets of his buddies while incarcerating a large portion of black men. Reagan was one of the worse Presidents in US history.

Thanks. I could not have said it better. Countries that produce, manufacture, and make things, produce wealth for their country. Having adequately paid workers, not lowly paid workers, works for the country as a whole. "Free trade" is not free.

In addition to borrowing money from China, add Japan, Saudi Arabia, Europe, and some Caribbean countries.
