Nuggets/ Knicks Brawl & penaltys

Re: Nuggets/ Knicks Brawl

backpeddling? he picked up his skirt and took to running. his teammate was trying to hold him....he was like, "get your feet off my pigtails, I'm trying to get away!!"

This is soooo true. LOL....he took off like Michael Johnson at a track meet after he blindsided that boy. This fight was a PUNKFEST.

Dont' remember who it was for the knicks, but some lil' short guard chased Mello full speed. When Mello got to the finish line from running so hard (his teams' bench) the short dude for the knicks stopped...did a 180 degree turn...and FLED just like Mello originally did when Mello's entire entourage got up. I collapsed.

Re: Nuggets/ Knicks Brawl

Man, that Nate Robinson is a TROOPER!!!

That lil short dude picked ole boy up and dumped him into the crowd and went to wailing on that head. That dude has heart!(Excert from Baby Boy)

Re: Nuggets/ Knicks Brawl

NEW YORK (AP) -- The NBA's leading scorer, Carmelo Anthony, has been suspended for 15 games for his part in Saturday night's brawl between the Nuggets and the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Anthony threw a punch during the melee in which all 10 players on the court were ejected.

In addition to announcing Anthony's penalty Monday, the NBA also announced the suspensions of Denver's J.R. Smith (10 games) and New York's Nate Robinson (10 games), Mardy Collins (6 games) and Jared Jeffries (4 games).

In addition, the Nuggets and Knicks were each fined $500,000. Jerome James and Nene also were suspended one game each for leaving the bench during the brawl.

Knicks coach Isiah Thomas insists he never threatened NBA scoring leader Carmelo Anthony but contends the Denver Nuggets caused problems by leaving their starters on the floor too long.

The NBA is to announce penalties Monday, since both teams play that night. Anthony is certain to miss a few games for throwing a punch, and the league must determine if Thomas played a part in the mayhem Saturday night at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks' coach had a discussion with Anthony about 20 seconds before Mardy Collins delivered a hard foul on J.R. Smith that triggered the melee. Though Thomas acknowledged telling Anthony not to go into the paint, he said he meant it not as a threat but as a lecture on sportsmanship.

"It wasn't necessarily not go to the basket, but basically don't rub it in," Thomas said Monday after New York's shootaround. "It wouldn't be a good idea for you to rub it in and go to the basket and dunk it on our guys. We're down 18, we're down 19, you don't need to act like that. Basically, show some class."

Re: Nuggets/ Knicks Brawl

well, most of these guys come from the projects and 'da hood' so, what do you expect? They fight everyday. :smh:

Re: Nuggets/ Knicks Brawl

Isaiah is on the clock.

His time is about to up as the Knick's coach.

Re: Nuggets/ Knicks Brawl

So how about baseball and hockey players fighting? They come from where?

Good point J4L. Even though Hockey has tried to clean up their image lately. Actually the NBA probably had more players from the projects back in the day than they do now. It is just a new school mentality in all sports. We can't blame where they are from any more. Heck Isiah Thomas himself was from the hood in Chicago.

15 games is a lot! That's a lot of money that he will not get. Carmelo makes $97,000 per game.

Melo gone pay for that sissy punch.

Next time sit on the bench and laugh.

I can blame it...most folks are a product of their environment. um, j4l, are you from the projects or something? You sure are sensitive...if ya thuggish, you thuggish.

I'm saying that's not an excuse. People from the burbs and the country fight just as much as from the projects. Tempers flair and no one is looking at where anyone is from. They fought because they were mad...just like why anyone from anywhere else fights.

I was in the hood til i was in 9th grade and I moved to the nice side of town.... but I spent a lot of time through high school in the hood and know there is not much of a difference at all.

I don't disagree. What I am saying is the perception that most of the NBA players are from the projects or the hood is false. Most of those kids don't make it to that level anymore. There were way more hood players in the old days than they are now..... Folks like Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Grant Hill, Kobe Bryant, Shaq, and even AI aint really from a tough hood in Hampton Va. It was poor but not gangster. So in saying that, I do not believe the reason these cats fight is because they are from the hood. They just think they are tough guys and want to go for bad. Even if they are from the suburbs. Sign of times I guess.

Re: Nuggets/ Knicks Brawl

My point exactly...wanna be thugs. Everyone wants to be a thug b/c being thuggish is glorified.

Now that is a problem unfortunately with a lot of the youth today. Whether they play ball or not, white or black even. If I see one more white boy walking around trying to be hard. LOL

Re: Nuggets/ Knicks Brawl

I don't even call it thuggish... folks fight whether thugs or not. They get mad and if it is in a physical situation they will probably fight. Whether in suits or shorts....

I don't know who did it or how he/she did it, but someone added on to the title of this thread.
Whomever did so, could you please go back and spell penaltys correctly.
It's spelled p-e-n-a-l-t-i-e-s.

Please go back and correct the spelling.
