Now that Albany State has become one of the largest HBCUs in the country overnight...

What school did Ga St merge with? I don't remember no school they merged with.

Georgia State recently merged with Georgia Perimeter College, the name is still Georgia State University and it is now the largest Ga. public college in the state, yes, even larger than UGA.

The consolidation would make the new institution the largest within the state’s system of public colleges and universities with almost 54,000 students. The move would also be notable for its joining of Georgia State, a four-year research institution with Georgia Perimeter, a two-year access institution

Ga. Perimeter? Over by Dunwoody? My wife went there. Wait, the article says it "PLANS" to merge. Not that it did.

The merger is not complete yet, but it is definitely going to happen. One of my Frat brothers works at Georgia Perimeter's Clarkston location and a lot of things still need to be sorted out.

There will probably be more mergers before it is all said and done.

ALSO, don't look for those rednecks at Dalton to stick around after merging with Albany State. Those dumbfucks have the nerve to look down their noses at Albany State, and refer to it as 2nd and 3rd rate education. THEY'RE ABSOLUTELY WRONG, OF COURSE. But you know that you cannot convince dumb-ass rednecks that the black school is ahead of their little hick community commuter 2-year college. I doubt the enrollment will remain at 9,000 once Dalton and Albany State combine but it will definitely still be more than Albany State has now. So its a win-win for Albany State...I think.

Its certainly not hurting Albany. The worst thing that can happen is the Dalton campus just closes.
