Does anyone know if Del State released the list of finalist? They seem to be the only hbcu without a head coach. Will they promote EJ Junior since it’s so late.

I hope Coach Jones gets another shot. Jones is good for these types of programs. He will get them winning seasons which will grow their base.
I haven't heard anything. They barely fund their football program is what I hear.Have you heard anything about finalist I know they said Maynor was but he is off the board now. I don’t hear much chatter about the job seems like they are low key or they don’t care about Football

Delaware State funds their football team. In fact, they have the biggest budget in the MEAC, period. They just have an administration that doesn’t value athletics anymore.
That ship sailed when why got hit with that title-IX lawsuit earlier this decade.
Yeah it seemed like DSU was starting trend upwards in football about 10 years ago when they actually won the MEAC
I’ve heard Bowie St. coach and Rod Milstead.
Yeah, I'm somewhat surprised that Damon Wilson wasn't picked up by anyone. I wonder what the overall interest level is with him. But given the way that things are lining up, I wouldn't be surprised if Wilson ends up at South Carolina State at the end of next year now that Pogue is leaving.
It’s really hard to believe they have the biggest budget cause they have a small stadium and seem to be no upgrades in facilities. Then they pulled the plug on Kenny Carter after what two years. They obviously had to be offering something good if they was looking to bring Maynor on board wonder what they was looking to pay him. At this late in the game Who would want to be the HC?
A few former DSU football players said over on the MEAC board that for some unforeseen reason, the outgoing coach is under contract until the end of this month and won't name a new coach until that contract expires. According to those insiders, the DSU administration doesn't want to pay multiple Head Coaches and their staffs.
This has been the case the past few hires, where the DSU admin purposely holds off from hiring a new coach until they finish paying the outgoing coach.
This tells me that DSU just isn't all that invested into football, which is weird as they spend well over $3 million dollars on the sport according to OPE.ED.GOV.
I don't know enough about EJ's body of work to comment, but I do believe Anthony Jones is worthy of consideration. And I think Morgan State missed out on the opportunity to hire him when they had the chance. What are your thoughts on EJ Junior and Anthony Jones? If I’m Wilson I wait cause SC State is a better situation.

Jones has arguably been one of the better head coach candidates on the market this year.
Comegy is from this area and if he is still interested in coaching, he would be a good fit at DSU..and he is a much better coach than Jones
Jones can do more with less. Comegy wins through recruiting and if he can't do that, he will produce the same as he did at Valley.
I would take Jones jones can do better with less. Comegy couldn’t and idk if he gets another FCS job from what happened at valley. Jones is a Baltimore guy
Jones would not win at Del State.
