This is a dayum shame. Dallas is sorry as hell.
Dallas has had the best player on the floor in the first two games of this series: Dirk Nowitzki. That is part of the reason the Lakers are down 0-2.
Since his followers want to put him in MJ's category, lets see if he can lead his team back from a 0-2 whole.
Please don't ever say that again. That makes me very sad. Sadder than seeing Gasol go to the line for a touch foul or Bynum getting pushed around in the paint like a little kid.
We never put Kobe in MJ's category because Kobe has his own category.
Kobe has went to 7 NBA Finals Appearances with 5 rings. What else does Kobe have to prove? I wonder what team you stand by Styles...the Laker Haters?
Kobe was a role player for four of those trips. FYI. Those were Shaq led teams. He is not going to get credit for those. He has 3 appearances and 2 rings as the "man"
Uhhh, pops, if Kobe wasn't hitting free throws in the clutch during many of those championship runs, they would've lost.
As far as this current series, Kobe can't do it by himself. Gasol, Fisher and Odom need to step up as well as Shannon Brown.
Give Dallas credit though, they've been playing great interior defense.
That aint true. They were never challenged by a one man show against Philly and AI. They lost Game 1 and never looked back. LOL. Kobe never had to save them like they were in some danger of losing the series because of Shaq not hitting free throws. Shaq had his way with Philly. Same thing against Indiana. The Lakers as a team just had too much for an older Reggie Miller. Who else did they play in the Finals and win back then....New Jersey? LOL. C'mon son. The Lakers had no issues until they played Detroit who had no fear of them and all those all stars. Otherwise Kobe was not the so called difference in that 3 peat. Yall constantly try to devalue Shaq because he could not hit free throws. He aint the first big man not to be good at that. He was the Finals MVP all 3 times. Those Lakers team could have the title against those opponents with any guard that could score. They had a veteran squad. No Shaq.....no title. But certainly those teams were good enough with having even a Ray Allen instead of Kobe play second fiddle to Shaq and beat those 3 Finals opponents. Aint like Kobe had to lose sleep worrying about guarding against a bonafide super star at the 2 guard in those series. Reggie Miller was his toughest opponent and all he did was run off screens by then.
So the Lakers would've won without Kobe? LOL!!
In many of those close games, Shaq was on the bench when the games got close. Come on JR, let go of the amnesia.
Jayrob, the Lakers were never in any trouble in the Finals on their 3 peat. Don't you get amnesia. And yes if the Lakers at that time had another all-star a the 2 guard they could have those titles. Kobe back then was not Kobe the last 3-5 years. He was not the best 2 guard in the NBA at that time. So don't even trip. But Shaq at that time was the most dominate big man in the game and most dominant player at that time. Free throws or not. You switch Kobe and AI back then when they played Philly, do you really think that Kobe could have lead Philly to a title against Shaq and AI? Switch Jason Kidd and Kobe from that NJersey team against Lakers. You think that Kobe and that Jersey cast could have beaten Jason Kidd (a PG) and Shaq with the Lakers veterans of Grant, Fox and others back then? Switch even old arse Reggie Miller with Kobe and that Indiana team....and the Lakers still win. Hell Miller is better free throw shooter right now on the TV broadcast than Kobe. So using your logic that Shaq needed someone to be able to shoot free throws down the stretch to win a title then obviously any of those guys could have done so. LOL.
See yall act like Kobe in the first 3 peat was the same Kobe he is now. He was not that kind of closer yet. Just give Shaq his due for those titles and let it go bruh.
Dude, I don't know what the hell some of you are talking about regarding Bynum. The light bulb has finally come on for him and he is holding his own. He has gotten to the point where he is not afraid to speak out. If his ass can stay healthy he will be the man eventually.
JR,
And please kill that mess about Reggie Miller being a better player than Kobe during that time.
Who were the best Shooting guards in the league at that time in your opinion?
