Notes For Those Who Will Be In Bham For The Weekend

First let me give congrats to all those teams that will be in Bham for the weekend, and congrats also to those teams whose season has already ended. For those fans attending this weekend here are a couple of tidbits for you:

A weekend pass is $20 - RESERVED SEATING! This pass admits you to all games. Otherwise it is $10 per session and it is GENERAL ADMISSION. Now Fair Park Arena sits around 5,500 people. Dont come to the game with a general admission ticket sitting in someone reserved seat - then causing a fuss about it. I am like Ced the Entertainer : I wish a aggin WOULD be in my seat.

Also, and fans from Bama State & A&M both know, if you plan on attending the men's games on Friday you may well need to be there at 4:30, 5 pm at the latest. The first game starts at 5:30 - Alcorn/Texas Southern, State/A&M peeps will be strong getting to the game, so this is just a heads up for everyone else.

Club Platinum is probably the main club as far as really gettin a party on. Admission is normally $10, but you know kneegrows may try to jack the price up, so be aware. There is also a nice jazz spot called Ona's. It has live bands and it is pretty laid back. A more mature crowd is usually in attendance. Others may can find other spots to get into on the Southside - Dave's, The Blue Monkey (that is pretty tight - a cigar and martini bar but you gotta have some one give you exact directions or you will never find it).

For those fellas - and these days ladies also - that are into the "more" adult entertainment, you have Magic City, Al's Crossroads on the same street - which actually is a straight shot from Fair Park, and you also have a new club called the Volcano. Be mindful that in Bham we have topless only dancing, but I have no doubt that you might can get a lil sumthin goin on if ya tippin right lol.

There is also the Civil Rights Museum across from 16th Baptist Church, home of the 4 Little Girls and the church bombing, and the Birmingham Museum of Art has a nice show right now of some hella European Art.

I hope you all have safe trips and have a great time here. I also hope I get to meet some of you at the games...I will be working (volunteering) so if you see any people wearing the "cheap looking" SWAC Volunteer T-****s' oopp I mean T-shirts, ask them if they know where Herman is - or the guy from 'Bama State - I am the only one from State helping out. PEACE and be safe.
