Joe Lunardi had them projected as a 15th seed so it seems if they take care of business they will no doubt have no parts of the play-in game...

I guess they are trying to recreate the first time when a black college and white college competed against one anther. Legendary coach John McLendon was NCCU's basketball coach when that secret game against Duke was played.

the MEAC plays much better hoops than the SWAC. Their won over NC State was good. THE MEAC pulls off some real OOC wins , the best we can do in mens hoops are moral victories.

There was the TSU win over Temple although they were 9-21, but I agree.

This maybe true but TSU was 2-0 against MEAC with wins over Norfolk State and Howard.

Remember, some time right during the start of conference play we just somehow forget how to play basketball but this team some how came together over the last eight games winning seven of them.

Cant lie, times like this I wish Southern could represent. Maybe even upset someone in the NCAA tourney, they had a legit shot at doing that.

Yeah NCCU is pretty good...they gave Witchita State a pretty good game...FAMU was the only MEAC team to beat NCCU this season, NCCU beat us 92-49 in the 2nd match-up...NCCU could be a Cinderella type of team this season.

I really believe that we would have given Wichita a run. That's just my opinion. They aren't that big of team. Tallest is 6'9, and their guards aren't that big like ours. But it is what it is.

And there you have it. NCCU gets a #14 seed in the East Region. That is pretty damn impressive.

really is... and it's not out of the realm of possibility that they could beat ISU or give them a run for their money...

and this is their first year at D1. that stays something.

You talking 1st year in the D-1 tournament? They were very nearly in the tournament last season too, but both them and Norfolk fell victim to the upset bug in the MEAC tournament. They played a solid OOC schedule and scored an upset over NC State, and took care of business in the MEAC. Plus they had a real good team last season too.

hampton girls projected to be 12

TXSU beat a 14th that's in the tournament (ULL). I think the NCAA is just punishing the SWAC top teams with these 16 seeds and play in games. Maybe it was jsu but somebody in this conference beat them.

It was JSU. TXSU needed to have a better performance during the regular season to avoid the play-in and 16-seed line. They are 19-14. Perhaps a 25-8 record or better would have been enough to push them up to a 15 seed.
