First off, my apologies I didn’t quite read what you stated with an open mind and that’s my mistake. I didn’t dispute a truth regarding coaching or anything JSU when it comes to athletic stability .., but how long has JSUs bad hires been the topic of the sports board? Apologies to my JSU folks... I get on edge for my alma mater but at the end of the day the second half of my statements about aamu are facts. You want to talk about short comings then every hbcu but maybe state and pv should be in here.... grambling, Texas southern, uapb, Mississippi valley, you guys, southern and it’s ncaa woahs this isn’t just a JSU problem ... you compare the swac to how it was in the 90s to now truthfully everyone has taken a few steps back trying to model themselves after these fcs pwis instead of keeping if not enhancing things that have worked to get us success on the field and gave us prestigious nfl hall of famers. A majority, are living off what was and not what is.

One of HBCUs major problem is that we pay our head coaches some of the largest salaries in FCS football with very little results. The philosophy of our head coaches is that they need more money in order to pay others to coach our programs. If that's the case, we need to hire head coaches that can properly coach our programs with limited funds. Until we do that we will always be in the position of needing more money to enhance our programs. In another thread, we talked about teaching our kids to build wealth by managing their money, but in order for them to do that they need to know how not to spend/waste so much money, which goes back to the basics of being innovated and self-sufficient. It is not hard to find coaches who have the skills to be innovated and self-sufficient. All one has to do is ask the right questions.
