No NBA tonight due to protests

Mississippi had been trying to change the flag for 30+ years that I know of...but people weren't trying to hear it until they started messing with the money....You start messing with "the establishments money" change will happen....It might not be a change of heart....but change will happen.

You do realize both presidential candidates support giving police MORE money, right?

White coaches and white players need to feel the heat MORE than black players. Where is Nick Saban? Where is Belichick? Where Sunshine? Where is Tom Brady?

Black people can't, and shouldn't, carry this burden. If we're talking about defeating racism and injustice, it's white folks' RESPONSIBILITY to respond. They created the problem. They need to be at the forefront of addressing it. NOW.

You can't count on white coaches and players to respond if they support trump and white supremacy...

This I agree with especially with MAGA Brady.

Looks like the NBA players weren't/aren't on the same page. Wonder if the boycott would have took place if the Bucks didn't jump out there the way they did.
Lebron was upset at them for not warning the rest of the league.
Udonis Haslem exchanged words with Lebron.
Lakers and Clippers seem to be the only teams wanting to cancel the season....

Oklahoma and Ole Miss march for social justice instead of practicing Friday

Thoughts? I think these coaches are pandering by doing this to keep their black work horses on that field

I don't know too much about what is going on at Ole Miss, but Lincoln Riley at OU -- before the Jacob Blake shooting -- had encouraged his players to be vocal about social issues.

He even started a task force so that those conversations can be part of team meetings. One of the Sooners' assistant coaches, who is black, recently spoke about how he routinely has talked with players, particularly black players, about how all that's going on right now impacts them.

It's understandable to be jaded about all of this, but at least some coaches and some programs are willing to allow the athletes a little bit more autonomy.

Someone tell the attention whore Lebron-the Bucks nor ANY NBA team has to clear anything with him.

If he doesn't want to play BYE. Go hide in your mansion.

Not playing solves what? Unless he is going to pull a Maya Moore-who stopped playing to get a man out of prison. Just like Mrs Kanye West but never got the press.
