A reminder of how the “game” is played. Teams have “owners”, and players are “owned”.

You obviously are missing the point. Who cares about the NFL. It's about a bunch of white people trying to tell a ninja to stay in his place. You knew age blacks is why I stopped helping this era in the corporate world.Where was the outrage for Jerry Rice's son? Honestly, I do not care what the NFL thinks, as I am not a season ticket holder or affiliated with them by any means so I don't card what happens but watching normal black Americans whine about a celebrity kid is asinine
That is just space age nonsense.Something tells me the Browns drafted Shadeur to later cut and further humiliate him.
I'm as old as you - I don't celebrity worship - if they picked a slow white kid as #1 then its outraged - but they didn't - they don't want to conform form their own league - but they made plenty of cash off the NFL and MLB so they won't complain too loudlyYou obviously are missing the point. anyone said something when the same dad went to a NFL scout at the combine and told his players to ignore him?
We still have to drag them to the truth, albeit they kick and scream on the way.You obviously are missing the point. Who cares about the NFL. It's about a bunch of white people trying to tell a ninja to stay in his place. You knew age blacks is why I stopped helping this era in the corporate world.
I still think you're reading this wrong. You obviously are missing the point. Who cares about the NFL. It's about a bunch of white people trying to tell a ninja to stay in his place. You knew age blacks is why I stopped helping this era in the corporate world.
I'm sorry bruh you know I'm usually on the same page with you, but this one is pure racism. Yes I know Deion is extra and truth be told he should have tones it down, but these good ole boys came for his throat to show him they're still massa and his son is the slave running the ball.I still think you're reading this wrong.
I don't think anyone was initially looking to put Shedeur in his place. Outside of the necessary evaluation of his game, which every QB has to go through, by nearly all accounts, he was seen, going into the beginning of the 2024 season, as one of the top QB's in the country and a solid 1st rd selection. The season he had only bolstered that. He was expected to be drafted at least in the top 5, most said top 3. The problem, at least to Deion's way of seeing it, was that the Browns, where it looked like Shedeur would be going, picked at 2.
So Deion went on his campaign. The Tamron Hall show, the interviews he did at the Super Bowl, etc. He'd even tweeted as far back as 2018 that if he was a young QB and the Browns selected him he'd pull an Eli Manning. You can still see the tweet today. Deion was too vocal, too loud, too persistent about what he was and wasn't going to "allow," while forgetting he didn't really have the power to do anything. And now it's come out that maybe things didn't go so well in the meeting with Daboll and the Giants. Not so much on the X's and O's side, but in the attitude and character department. The Mara's are NFL bluebloods and one of the more respected ownership groups in all of pro sports. So I'm sure the other owners paid attention when the Giants spoke on how the meeting went.
What billionaire is going to put up with that? You wouldn't, and neither would I. If you were thinking about helping put someone on at your corporate job and they started talking about what they would and wouldn't do, etc. etc., and all this before they were even hired, you would stop whatever you were doing to help that person and thank the Good Lord you found out about em before you'd put them into a position where they could really cause some problems. No different here. And if my friends and colleagues were all billionaires I'm sure we'd be having some quiet conversations about, yes, how we're going to put the loudmouth in his proper place.
Ultimately I don't care about Shedeur or Deion, other than to hope the kid has a good career. What I do care about is that we understand what happened so we can learn and teach the proper lessons, so this 40 million dollar mistake isn't made again. All over the country Black men and women are talking about racism, "rich white men" wanting to see confident young Black men humbled, etc. And they're mistakenly telling their young Black children this is what happened here.
But the proper lessons are to understand thoroughly your position in regard to different situations and where you stand in relation to the others involved; what, if any, leverage do you have to negotiate a better position; and, maybe most importantly, that a silent tongue/still fingers betrays not its owner.
Deion keeps quiet, Shedeur acts like a professional, he most likely goes to the Browns at 2. Instead, his old man did what he did, Shedeur played his part in it, and he still goes to the Browns, but 142 picks later. 40 mil vs the 4 mil he'll sign for. That's a light spanking for Shedeur, and a message to Deion. Now he's in a crowded QB room, in which he's still probably the best in the bunch. He's a pocket passer like Flacco, so he'll have a good mentor.
Bruh. Maybe i am old but this is not a good look. You dont see trav or cam doing thisDid shedeur invite all those people crying racism, etc to his exclusive VIP only draft party in Dallas last night?that kid doesn't care - he's already rich

Let's focus on a Carson Vinson as if he turns out to be a franchise OT he can benefit aamu
Cam is a country kid at the end of the day - I know exactly where he's from and it ain't much out there lol - if he did something like that it meant he was influenced - but those kids grew up in that lifestyle around folks who love to clean their jockstraps and will do it just to stay in the loop no matter how bad it makes them look - they can so no if they wantedBruh. Maybe i am old but this is not a good look. You dont see trav or cam doing this
Something tells me the Browns drafted Shadeur to later cut and further humiliate him.
Just yesterday l read Shadeur’s jersey sales was number 3.
the only one outta that bunch that probably could've done something like that would've been Cam. he was good enough that you would overlook some issues with him.You can move like Shedeur/Deion did if your kid is Caleb Williams, Cam Newton or Jameis Winston -- no doubt first-round or No. 1 picks -- and their baggage or how they approach the pre-draft process doesn't matter. But when you enter a weak QB class and only a few teams really want to draft a QB, you gotta be realistic.
That right there is a reason to draft him in the later rounds, as the Browns are going to make alot of money off Shadeur's merch (I suspect that they will make more money off the merch in one year than the whole value of Shadeur's rookie contract). The reality is the Browns are an organization that is a mess and at this point they need to do what they can to generate interest in the team.Just yesterday l read Shadeur’s jersey sales was number 3.
You are correct in about how things was handle from the Sanders camp, as the Mannings, Elway, and even Bo Jackson handle things in a better fashion. Elway said he would go play baseball and Bo Jackson said he would play for any teams except for Tampa given how they got his last year of eligibility taken away from him in college. I think the Sanders Camp tried to do what Deion did, but the difference was his son is not the type of player that Deion was coming out of school.the only one outta that bunch that probably could've done something like that would've been Cam. he was good enough that you would overlook some issues with him.
caleb's old man tried to say they wanted equity in whatever team drafted him. naturally they didn't get it, and after he first said it I don't remember hearing anything else about it, which tells me their agent probably had a word with them to drop that cause it wasn't gonna happen. jameis was a good prospect but he would've slid too.
i won't deny there's a racial aspect to it, but i don't believe the owners just decided to punish shedeur like that because they're racist. what deion should've done was handle it like eli's old man. be cool, let shedeur go at 2, then start pushing for a trade with the threat that shedeur would maybe sit out a year and reenter the draft next year if he didn't get it. or just let him go to cleveland and do his thing.
the good news in all this is, the owner wanted shedeur, which means if stefanski doesn't have a helluva year this year, and shedeur conducts himself right and deion handles his business in colorado, the owner may want deion too. one thing we know about him he don't mind hiring Brothers.
HeLL No!So was Shedeur treated fairly?
What setback or warning?Shedeur Sanders endures first Browns setback after receiving stark NFL warning
Shedeur Sanders has been denied the opportunity to wear his favorite jersey number having been announced as the Cleveland Browns' new number 12.
Sanders wore No. 2 throughout his time in college football, but he won't be able to sport the same jersey at the time with veteran receiver DeAndre Carter, who will be seen as a longshot to make the roster, still assigned No. 2
The former Colorado quarterback surprisingly fell into the fifth round of the NFL Draft, which already looks to be impacting his career, with the higher draft pick having more leverage to ask for their preferred jersey numbers. Sanders has already lost out on millions after the falling, while now being in a battle to even make the roster.
The Browns do not have an established starting quarterback heading into the 2025 season, though, with Deshaun Watson potentially out for the year after suffering a torn Achilles for the second time in just a few months.
Cleveland also drafted another quarterback, Dillon Gabriel, in the third round of the draft, who will be competing for snaps with Sanders.
The Browns re-signed former Super Bowl winner Joe Flacco to a one-year deal, whilst also trading for Kenny Pickett, with the two likely having the best chances of starting ahead of the 2025 season.
