NFL Black Monday


Looks like the Texans used Lovie the same as Culley to get the whole Black coach talk out of everyone's system. After Culley and now Smith, I will be shocked if you see another Black coach anytime soon... definitely not an up and coming good one.

Lets see if they try to chase Demeco Ryans. Its hard to win your front office is the second worst in the NFL. No one will ever be worst than the Browns.

Most of the Texans fans I know wants Ryans back, but I doubt he wants the job. Cal McNair is the worst owner in the league.
 
The Texan organization is a train wreck. I hope they did not expect miracles. I am assuming that they did not.

Note. Smith's record in Tampa was the same as Bill Walsh's first two season ins San Francisco (8-24). Smith's situation in Tampa and the 49er organization with Walsh were better situations than what Smith faced in Houston.

Let's not forget. Lovie Smith got to a Super Bowl with Rex Grossman as his quarterback.

Love has been at Illinois and the NFL the past few years - you think he wants to deal with the SWAC after that?

I'm not sure a loss would have saved his job. If they want a new QB, there will still be a good one at #2. IMO, Culley and Smith were hires to prove they were not against hiring a Black coach once they fired Romeo. They were more qualified Black assistants out there the last few years if they were serious about giving a Black coach a chance to win.

Keep in mind, they really wanted to hire Josh McCown and his only experience was as a volunteer coach.
