New lineup for Unsung 2012

Those boys were wild in the days. A lot of drugs, women and street stuff went on with them. Did yall notice how Bobby said referenced to keeping those street folks away from her?

LOL...he does have a jacked up hairline. They have me interested in Sam Cooke now. His death still remains a mystery to me.

Wasn't there an Unsung episode on Sam Cooke in like the first season!? I read up on his death...it was a lie how they said he died. Straight cover up :smh:

Bobby Womack's life seemed...cursed. You could tell a lot was left out, they didn't even discuss Cooke's daughter marrying Cecil at all.

What is even more crazy is that song he did right before he died(A Change Gonna Come). It is a classic, different from any other song he did. I like listening to it but everytime I hear it, it really does feel like death is aroud the corner.

The song does indeed have an erry feel to it.

Well, how about "dem" Lewis Brothers? :smh: anyways, an 80s slow jam tape is so incomplete without an Atlantic Starr song...

Been watching Unsung, and the Atlantic Starr episode seemed rather boring and much like Rolls Royce's story...especially coming one week after Bobby Womack's story.

BTW: I'm still hoping they make Devin the Dude their first rap/hip-hop episode of Unsung, because that dude is definitely Unsung...

Yea, the Atlantic Starr episode was boring. I don't see the problem with the Lewis brothers taking the lion's share of the money...they wrote some hella hits. Songwriters get PAID!!!!

Sure do. If I could do that kinda work, I would.
I didn't have a problem with them getting paid either. It was just the situation with the way Barabra Weathers was treated was kinda strange. It also seemed like after Sharon & Barabra, they were not too quick to share the limelight with another female lead vocalist...(shrug shoulders)...nevertheless, they had a good run of hits...black babies in the early 80s were probably born because of their slow jams...

Oh I agree. They did some people wrong!

I'm not sure why Freddie Jackson was on Unsung. He's had a fairly successful career. Other than not explaining why he wears tons of Pancake 31 and eye shadow, he hasn't had much scandal in his life. Glad to see he's still doing his thing. I enjoyed his earlier hits.

I've always thought he was gay. Last night proved it. He's had a good career. A lot of great hits.

I agree, I didn't see what was so unsung about his career either.

I guess it's because he hasn't made a strong comeback since the early 90s. :noidea:

I felt that way about him and RIP Luther. I had to get older to appreciate Luthers Music but they just turned me off and came off unbeleivable back in the day. It didn't help that Guy,Silk and Jodeci was so aggressive towards the ladies...
Freddie is extra with it and from all accounts Luther had more jewels, bobals, tennis braclets than Liberache....SP

I could not then (and even now) for the life of me understand what people liked about Silk and Jodeci. Two of the most OVERrated groups in music history.

:smh:
