Florida A&M University released new details Monday about the investigation that Tallahassee police recently launched into another possible hazing involving music students.

The alleged hazing occurred last spring and involved members of the Kappa Kappa Psi band fraternity, FAMU President James Ammons told trustees of the historically black university in Tallahassee during a teleconference.

This morning's teleconference was held so Ammons could give trustees a weekly update on criminal investigations that are connected to the recent hazing death of marching band member Robert Champion and also on FAMU's ongoing response to the crisis.

FAMU's famous marching band has become the center of national attention since Champion died after a hazing attack following the Florida Classic football game in Orlando in November.

Since Champion's death, other hazing allegations have surfaced. Over the past two months, a total of seven students have been charged with hazing other members of the Marching 100.

The Kappa Kappa Psi incident, which allegedly occurred off campus, was reported to band director Julian White on Nov. 21. White reported it to the university police department on Nov. 22, Ammons said.

Yep............ Tha BRUHs this time. I was wondering when it was going to be our turn down there with all the lawsuits and potnetial money payouts that are sure to come. With the big $$$$$$$$ settlements of the early 2000's down there, it's open season and people are hunting $$$$$$$$. Somebody tried, fell by the wasteside and now they gonna sue.

Oh well................. Ain't like they didn't know people was watching. :smh:

Real talk, it is not smart business for anybody to haze at this moment in any org. I wouldn't even make a line.

You got that right.
The second a person is touched, even if it is not hitting, you run the risk of handcuffs.

Shoot............ Make a line?
If I was an undergrad, and a member of a Fraternity or any college organization these days, (band, ROTC, Business Club, Choir, etc), I would not be anywhere near a pledge. I'll see them when they cross because even just being around can get you in a hell of a situation these days. Making a person do silly, clowning shat can be looked at as hazing.

Making people do pushups in the BOOM was defined as hazing at JSU.

Players, you are 100% correct. Don't even call me about a pledge process.

Two words.....

Bull Sh!t!!!

1st off, this supposed incident happened last spring and was reported half a year later :smh:

2nd, there was no KKpsi line in the spring. How do you haze a line that didn't exist?

I don't know what happened down there. Could be a lie by people trying to join the lawsuit graveytrain.

BUT........ :lecture: ......... And ya'll know this.
"Underground" lines have existed since fraternities was created. Underground pledge lines are the worst kept secrets on college campuses. ESPECIALLY HBCU CAMPUSES. Everybody know but nobody know shat.

You shole is right Frat. It don't take much. Even after SU administration found no wrong doing by Zeta Nu a few years back after their investigation. National didn't want to hear it because of all the widespread stuff about HBCU bands. Hell we had a couple of bruhs pledging Kappa and all folks knew is that they were in the band. SMH. Don't take much for stuff to mushroom into something. Maybe if they allowed pledges to walk line again, stuff wouldn't be so hidden. Now every organization is doing stuff in the dark and nobody knows what is going on outside of the individuals involved. I know I felt better being above ground than being underground. Back then we called it pre-pledging. We were Blue Notes before being on line. LOL. Ahh the days. Pledging was actually fun. More mental than anything. Don't know where all this arse beating is coming from. I would run from being around a pledge now. LOL.

Pledge to JR: Good morning Big Brother
JR to Pledge: I don't know you son. :scared:
Pledge::noidea::confused:
JR: :gone:

ME TOO! its gonna be alot of paper made mofos walking around and I personally dont care anymore cuz I aint trying to go to jail over no bs...:smh:...:smh:

It's like a cancer. It won't stop spreading until it completely kills what it infests. Prayers up for the Marching 100, as well as all HBCU Bands...as well as all HBCU Fraternities and Sororities.

They get my prayers. But if they haze, knowing good and well of the consequences, they get NO kind of sympathy from me. These are supposedly grown college educated people. How could they NOT know better?

:shame:

Now that was the worst thing to happen to pledging. When you had to walk line everyday, dressed alike, in step, people would know if something was "up" if you were not seen for a day or two. Now, with "walking the line" cut out, everything is done in secret and keeping a visual tab on things is almost impossible.

Back in the day, you could not be on line limping or on crutches, brused up. Now.......... Nobody can tell until after the fact.

Honestly I think that might help with the hazing issue. If Universities would MAKE these organizations put their pledgees out to the public. MAKE them parade them around on campus to let everyone see them. Why is it a secret anyway?!

I love listening to older Sorors talk about pledging. There's one in my current Chapter...1964 Delta Pi. She said the Big Sisters would stand by Alexander Dormitories and she and her line sisters would be coming down Lynch Street singing LOUD and the Big Sisters had to hear them or they would make them turn around and start over. She said that was there thing...SINGING!! Singing songs, chants, etc. I love it!!!

 exactly.

We just had an interest meeting for my grad chapter about two weeks ago. I forgot all about. I'm not interested. I retired from ALL of that. I won't even write a letter. There is only one person in the WHOLE world I would write a letter for if he ever decides to finish up and that is because he was in the trenches with me at J-State. He is the only one who never got his letters. Aside from him... NOPE! ...and when it comes time for my grad chapter to vote.. I'm voting no for everybody. We ain't never got to make another Kappa as far as I am concerned.

As far as I am concerned, any member of Omega who paid his frat dues is good with me... I am not talking with you until after you crossed. Don't even come tell me you want to pledge...

ME TOO! its gonna be alot of paper made mofos walking around and I personally dont care anymore cuz I aint trying to go to jail over no bs...:smh:...:smh:

Every one is paper to someone. No matter what one line did, there is another line who thinks the other line is paper.

You shole is right.... and ummm from some of the stuff other people have done my azz iz paper... lol

But like JR said, that schitt was fun....maybe not as much as when you went thru it but when you look back that schitt was funny as hell. Even the small things. I get so upset when I am in a new city... say for a wedding or something...and you trying to follow folks. You can tell people who never pledged becasue they don't know how to follow without being lost from the group. You can't travel 5-6 cars deep with everyone in one dayum line... smh. The funny schitt that happened in the dark and the stinky schitt you have to deal with unsure if it was REAL schiitt or not... lol Soooo much funny schitt happens when you pledge. Heck I know one night we were all lined up and our big brothers were saying so much funny schitt that we were trying to hold our laughs in...They looked at us and said, "Ok, I know ya'll wanna laugh"....we broke rank and fell all over the floor laughing. :lmao: People telling you to walk to the Metrocenter to get them a Grandest Chicken Sandwich... and mofos doing it..and you ride past them as they running to the mall and ask them ..."ummm man , where you going"... See those were the dumb ones.

No arguements here i'm just not fooling with it...I'm in the process of getting a house plan on having kids soon and I dont want to be in nothing to jeopardize that...Hazing Lawsuits and Jail time is not for me!

When we was at JSU, the spot was the X in the center of Alexander Hall off the Plaza. Every fraternity and Soroity would take their turn. Everybody knew when people was comming but you never knew who until you heard them comming. It was just a matter of who showed up. At night, about 9pm, we would start on the ramp at F.D. Music Hall and kick off that "WE ARE THE CLEFF OF K K PSI" chant song in our combat boots, blue jeans, white tee shirt, and blue sweat shirt hoodies. By the time we hit the corner into the hole at Alexander, the place would be packed with Alexander Hall residents hanging out the window. We would step. sing, clown, and then "go get that money." During the day, we were in dark Navy Blue Suits....... Pressed white shirts, neck ties and all:lol:

We would break off going from window to window. Those girls felt sorry for anyone pledging. They would be dropping change and a few dollars dowqn to us. That and going to the cafeteria singing for our supper was the two best parts about walking the line. The cafeteria would be so packed during pledge period, you would think they was serving 5 star meals from 5pm to 6pm.

Click photo to enlarge.
Can you imagine 16 mofos in combat boots and hoodies marching around campus carring these:

Daytime pledge wear. I'm the one in the very back with the SHAG FRO haircut. 18 years old. We were practicing for some little show the bruhs made us do.
