Jones suspended for season!!!!

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell handed out the first suspensions under his discipline policy, banning Adam "Pacman" Jones for the entire 2007 season and Chris Henry for eight regular-season games.
The two players are suspended without pay for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy and engaging in conduct detrimental to the league on numerous occasions, the NFL announced.
After they serve their suspensions, each player must apply for reinstatement.
"We must protect the integrity of the NFL," Goodell said. "The highest standards of conduct must be met by everyone in the NFL because it is a privilege to represent the NFL, not a right. These players, and all members of our league, have to make the right choices and decisions in their conduct on a consistent basis."

This is some BS. No way this suspension should stand. And I'm not a fan of Pacman.

From a friend of mine who works in the NFL Office, said that the player's union supported this action....

Hell I am all for it... It is a PRIVALEDGE to play in the league... Every player signs the code of conduct policy when they sign an NFL contract.... I dont feel sorry for them one bit....:lecture:

I can't buy that pottna. It's one thing if you've done, 1, or 2 things, but arrested 10 times in a year, and a half????? At this point, it's not about if he's (Pacman, cuz Chris Henry has been convicted sentenced) been convicted, or not, it's about image, and unfortunately we live in an image conscience world. The NFL is a multi-billion dollar business, and everytime these cats are arrested it's a reflection of the team they play for, and the league itself, and I hate to say this, but black people.

Coach Rob once told Tank Younger, if YOU don't make it, they may never give US another chance, and it's almost getting to that point. I know athlete's are targets, but at somepoint, these repeat offenders have to quit putting themselves in stupid situations.

The league had to send a message that this type of behavior will no longer be tolerated. Unfortunately for Pacman, and Chris Henry, they were first in line, which means they had to be made examples of, hopefully they get the message.

They may end up banished forever man. There may be legal issues that have not even come out yet that could be a violation of this deal.

Has anyone ever listed all 10 incidents Pac Man has been involved in?

Was the personal conduct policy in place before Pacman's arrests? Or was there just not a penalty in place before the arrests? I think that should make a big difference.

I don't see the problem...at some point these players need to face the consequences of their actions, convicted or not...black, white or other. OUR kids are watching. If some kid sees Pacman get away with his behavior that's all it's going to take for them to 'act a fool' and then say "well, it dont' matter what i do cuz i can still make the $$$ and play in the NFL...Pacman did it...". :smh: Then what we gon do? And ya'll know it's a kid somewhere out there who can be influenced in that way.

Pacman's behavior takes away from those who are acting responsible. Ok, yeah folks make mistakes, but really...how many chances should one get?
Whether these folks want to be role models are not, for some kids these players are all they have to look up to...sad, but true.

I agree 100%. I don't feel sorry for them!!!! If they want to be gangstas let them hang on the corners with their boys.

I am not mad at the NFL. Unlike the punk NBA who allows their players to do whatever until that fight broke out with the Piston fans and the Pacers. The NFL has spoken. No......your young arses will not be able to enter the draft and now.......your young punk arses will not be able to do whatever you like off the field and represent my business. These cats would have been gone in corporate America. Let any of us get arrested that many times and our jobs find out. Out the door we go. I have seen far less than that get folks let go.

This is a good lesson for the next set of spoiled and I can do anything I want players to see what happens if you act a fool. Pac Man Jones own people/relatives have been quoted as saying that you can't tell him nothing. Oh well..........the NFL just did. I hope he got some of that 80 grand he was making it rain with back. He gone need it with no paycheck coming this year.

Chris Henry is lucky in my mind........he should have been suspended for the season as well. He has actually been convicted before. His rep must have pleaded a better case for him. LOL. Well hopefully for their sakes they stay away from their boys and other bad elements they like to run with it so they can get back to playing ball. They make Ricky Williams look like an angel for smoking a little weed here and there.

What hasn't he done. LOL. I think he had a marijuana possession charge, an illegal gun-possession charge, a DUI and now providing liquor to a minor. All since December. I probably left something out. I also think he had some issues before going to the Bengals when he was in college.
