I read in the Tallahassee newspaper that many of their students got kicked out and suspended for taking some items at a hotel recently.

That is their style. The only question is whether they executed their style well. Their style is not classic "SWAC style". It is not even MEAC style. It is more ACC style. With that in mind, how did they do executing their style?

I will tell you that Florida State's book is about 40 tunes deep (I was in Tallahassee last Thursday). With 450 kids playing, the volume would be impressive. They include EWF, Beyonce, Angie Stone, the Eagles, John Mayer, etc. The rhythms are not funky and the sound is ridiculously clean.

Effective meaning that they left an good impression on their fans and our fans alike. FSU is effective because the sheer sound is RIDICULOUS. NCCU's fans were looking at them like:retard: , because SU was playing Top 40, marches, ballads, old school with more style, cleanliness, and power.

Now, if they would have played a few songs after the game (just to show their ability and diversity) and left, it would have been cool. But, they TRIED to battle and got MURKED. Point Blank!

The GPA took out 3 times as many as the hotel incident.

Thanks for explaining effectiveness.

If their fans are responding to them by what SU is doing, it only shows that those fans are ignorant of the program does. My point is that Band A cannot afford to change its identity based on any Band B. You have to be yourself rather than always trying to be someone else.

Scenario: FSU signs SU for a beatdown game in Tallahassee. The Marching Chiefs have great EWF arrangements but they have no funk. They will overpower the Jukes with sheer numbers. Now, do they play those tunes in the 5th in a battle with Jukes? Nope. They play Grand Funk Railroad, Lynard Skynard, and Pink Floyd because doing will distinguish them to their fans and from SU.

For real!!!!!!!!!!! They battled forever. We left around song 7 or 8...they were playing as we crossed the hump!


NCCU's little band DID THAT on the gospel songs "BLESSED" and "Center of Center of my Joy"...

I didn't hear/recognize any gospel from my favorite band in Jaguarland but they DID THAT as well! The band is so powerful and sound so good!

It wasnt because they didnt have power, it wasnt because they didnt play the right songs, they just didnt sound worth shat

BCC is a band that is square as all he!! but they sound great.... I can respect that but not these country kids
 
I thought someone was going to post on that ridiculous field show NCCU did by now. I'll just do it then. NCCU sounded good, but the Jag Nation knew it was over as soon as NCCU got the field and opened up with some wack dance routine. The march terrible, drill terrible and dance terrible. What was up with their dancers? And then on top of that the band just kept on dancing after the came off the field. We booed them so badly, I started to feel sorry for them, but then again they deserved it. That'll teach them. Don't come to Mumford with no bullshihit :lmao: :lmao:.

I actually liked their cheerleaders. They were off the chain!!! They were 1000 times better than the band. You can tell they practice on precision a lot. They wouldn't win competitions with that style, though

They don't try to win Competitions. Stunting has been banned at NCCU. They are at to game to entertain, keep the crowd in the game, and the energy up!! And that they have got down to a science:tup: . You should see them at a home game. They have the fans eating out of there hands. The crowd know just as many cheers as they do.

The traditional way or as we call it the "White way":tdown: , Does not go over very well for CIAA/MEAC crowds.

And if our sound is so ineffective, how is it that Omegas sitting behind the band started hopping to Atomic Dog right after the intro?

Your own band staff (people in maroon shirts filming) was singing along to SU tunes. That's enough proof to know that our arrangements are great. My dad is an Omega and, after y'all played the intro about 27 times, I still had to tell him that y'all were playing it!

Ok I was there....here we go.....

1st Half
At the start of the game when NCCU marched in we were like ok they look like a high school band. They played their lil intro song and their fans cheered for them. As they were marching in the Jukebox waited until they got into their seats to march around the stadium and the NATION erupted. Once the jukebox got into the stands they played the national anthem and NCCU played some chant and song that got them hype and their fans too. We were all like awwww thats cute. For the 1st half it was like NCCU became very aggravating. SU did their chant and song but after that every song SU played NCCU played it back but it was way less effective, not bad , but not good.

Halftime
NCCU
IVE NEVER SAW A BAND WALK ONTO THE FIELD......BUT NCCU DID THAT!!!! All they did was dance and dance and dance.......that was horrible. The best song they played was the sean paul and keisha cole. The dancers twirled GUNS, FLAGS AND RIBBONS!!!! They came off the field dancing into the heart of the student section and we let em have it. WE BOOED THE HELL OUT OF THEM TO THE POINT WHERE I FELT BAD because they got no type of hand clap. Usually the old jag fans will clap but I think NCCU made their show so it could appeal more to a younger crowd. I would have suggested playing some songs the older crowd would recognize because thats like a given set of applause. Well they just walked back to their side heads down and all.

Loved the Crazy and the dolls.The drill was tight and sound was unbelievable. As far as the dancing breakdown, if you werent familiar with Baton Rouge music then you didnt know what was goin on. They played Wipe me down, Zoom, Pop these pills, and my favorite MEET ME IN THE PARKING LOT. Madea and Brown came on the field and danced to Brown & White. Im loving the way Mr. J switchin it up every week.

2nd Half
Same as 1st half but that Stuntin Like my daay SU played stood out, I was on that.

5th quarter
We all expected NCCU to play 5 and go, just take they L and go, not the case. They played and played and played and PLAYED.They were like a damn fly that you couldnt get rid of. And I wanna set one thing straight, THEY MAY HAVE PLAYED 25 TIMES BUT ITS WHAT THEY PLAYED THATS THE PROBLEM. THEIR SCHOOL FIGHT SONG, THE JEFFERSONS, SANFORD AND SON,MARCHES, SUPERMAN FANFARE!!!! WHAT THE HELL!!??? If there was any doubt anybody will tell you the Jukebox is the most respected organization on campus ahead of any sports team, frat, EVERYBODY!!! They played they @*s off and they played SONGS.....FULL SONGS!!!! There were so many songs SU didnt play that its ridiculous. The funniest thing was when they began turning off the lights, then the stadium security left, thats how long we were out there. I know NCCU felt like they had something to prove but I woud have had more respect for yall if you would have left earlier instead of staying and embarrasing yourselfs with that ridiculous display. Ya'll dont even get no points for staying because of what yall was playing. Did you think we were going to leave our own stadium 1st? The trip thing about it Mr. J never let SU turn towards NCCU and blow them out the damn stadium, they was blowin straight ahead and still was beastin. After the display by SU Saturday night, regardless of what other people think, they proved why they are the #1 band and they are the HUMAN JUKEBOX literally!!!
