NCAA Hirings, Firings And Retirings 2025-26 Part 2

JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State University head men's basketball coach Trey Johnson announced a pair of additions to his staff including Darrian Wilson as the associate head coach heading into the 2026-27 season.

Wilson was named head men's basketball coach at Itawamba Community College in 2025 and finished with a 49-13 record in two seasons that included a MACCC championship and a Region 23 championship game appearance. After recording 26 wins in his first year as a head coach, he followed that up with 23 last season. Prior to his two years as a head coach, he served as an assistant from 2022-24, contributing to three consecutive 20-win seasons and coaching players such as AJ Dent, an All-American.

Johnson also announced the addition of Terrence McGrew to the staff as Director of Basketball Operations. McGrew is no stranger to the men's program after serving as a manager for the team the last two seasons, including as a graduate manager in 2025-26. Prior to that, he served as a manager for the women's basketball program.

No offense to Coach Chatman but his hiring lets you know something is up with Adminstration. TSU doesn’t play when it comes to basketball. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mike Davis gets Valley to a .500 SWAC team in his first year.

Well he's gonna have a pretty clean slate because all the top players from last year's team are in the portal. Of course the only ones worth anything was James and Childress. The rest will be lucky to land on the bench of a D1 school

The portal will be our best friend

The portal is like most clothing stores...the good quality products will cost you more....
The clearance rack items may get you at the bottom...(PV's women's team)
