NCA&T Hires new Coach





Speaking with some A&T alums, they said that when Washington was asked his opinion in an interview a while back....Washington openly expressed his desire to continue to play in the Celebration Bowl and that didn't sit well with the Administration at A&T (that started the ball rolling to his demise). Apparently, he stuck to his convictions, since he was seen on the NC Central sidelines during the game.

Sam did say why not the playoffs at one time in the meac which was a discussion also

But if you ever saw the presser when they went to the big south some of the saddest looking folks in the room was the fb staff cause they were blindsided. Then Sam lost key guys who been with him forever in Gibbs and Oliver along with other staffers who built the program back

But they all knew they had a thing going in the meac and was set up to dominate for years to come until this conference switch killed everything and now they're starting from scratch

His last 2 years did him in.

I've heard of being a victim of your own success, but it seems his accomplishments should have bought him more than two years. I get it though, some are quick to forget. I can't help but wonder how much or should I say how little time the new coach has coming in with no championships to his name as a college head coach. Those are big shoes he has to fill, and apparently some unrealistic expectations to satisfy also.

I wish the A&T family well.

This Aggie doesn't see it as an upgrade. I hope I'm wrong but there is no way Coach Brown can come close to matching what Sam Washington achieved. Sometimes you don't realize what you had until it's gone. ☹️
