NASCAR releases image of noose found in Bubba Wallace's garage, says concern was 'real'

NASCAR released a photo of the noose found in the garage of Bubba Wallace's team at Talladega Superspeedway, saying it had been placed there in October 2019 but that NASCAR was unable to determine who tied the rope and why it was done.

FBI called it a noose but went on to say this wasn’t intended as hate crime.

Must be the spirit of J. Edgar Hoover lingering over the FBI....

President Donald Trump on Monday attacked NASCAR for banning displays of Confederate flags on its vehicles, and then demanded that Black NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace apologize for being upset about what appeared to be a noose placed in his garage.

“Has Bubba Wallace apologized to all of those great NASCAR drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX?” the president wrote on Twitter. “That & Flag decision has caused lowest ratings EVER!”

I lived in Daytona all my life and had never even thought about going to a race. Well, I direct a community choir and our president and her husband were HUGE NASCAR fans. Her husband had passed about 3 years ago and she had 2 tickets and backstage experience passes to a Sat. race before the 500. She gave them to me and I took my son who LOVES cars. Now, I love history and historical events and happenings. While backstage, me and my son had the opportunity to get an autograph and take selfies with Bubba Wallace! Talk about an opportunity.... Both of our FIRST races EVER.
