My WAR Story

Vinita

Let's Go Lions, GO!
One of my favorites came to class with the most sour look on his face. I said, "Jeez, you look as if you've lost your best friend." Then he starts crying uncontrollably. I mean, BAWLING ... in front of the entire class. I had to call someone to cover my class so I could take him to the counselor's office.

Turns out that his older brother is among the troops that are 50+ miles outside of Baghdad. He called his family a couple of days ago to tell them where he was. I was trying to calm him down, and tell him that everything would be ok.

He said, "I know, Miz Hegwood. He said he wasn't afraid. But I'm afraid. That's my only brother." At that point I just gave up trying not to cry. I just gave him a hug, told him to stay prayed up, and make SURE he set an example his brother can be proud of while he's gone.

Did I mention that this kid's brother is 19? Too young to drink but plenty old enough to die ...

The very last statement you posted, was just talked about on K104 this morning. Someone wrote in a letter speaking about what a "soldier" is.

That's deep, GOD bless the lil' boy and his brother.

:(

You know it does not take much to make me cry and here I am crying like that kid was my brother.

He will be in my prayer

:smh:
Poor Baby.

He is in my prayer also along with everybody deployed there and their family members. I am in the Army myself and trying to clear a medical condition so I can deploy and I can wait. I want to be able to fight for my country and be proud of it. My brother is on call also in the reserve. He already served for 8 months during Dessert Shield and Dessert Storm. While he was there his military vehicle got flipped over during an Iraqui attack but he did not suffer any injury.

My mother will be devostated if she knows that we take part in the deployment but that's what we joined the service for and I am sure her prayers will get my brother and myself through this.

I think the President is doing the right thing and I support him a 100%. Is better to get rid of this sick puupy now than later before he becomes more powerful and dangerous to the world.

My unit is the farthest unit up in the front lines (closest to Baghdad) and I am looking forward to join my peers by the end of this month.

God Bless America and Our Soldiers

God Bless Lovedawg. I wish you and the rest of the soldiers giving their lives for freedom the best!!!! It is always easier to sit back and criticize...especially those with no prior military experience whatsoever. You all are truly heroes in my eyes!!!! God bless the families also!!!
