1.GSU(8-2)-The Tigers survived a scare from a good ASU team but held on and remained perfect in the SWAC.GSU has yet to lose to an HBCU this season.The Gmen will need someone other than Eugene to step up on the ground attack.Next up SSU.
2.SU(9-1)-SU is gearing up for a big showdown with GSU in the BC 3weeks from now.The Jags have probably the best defense in BCF led by Lenny Williams,Tarus Morgan,and Kevin Mack.The offense is solid as well led by Quincy Richard who has 2,400 yards passing 24td's and 8 int.Su also has 5 rushers with 20 or more carries averaging over 5 yards a carry.Next up TXSU.
3.NCA&T(9-1)-This is the same team that finished 4-8 last year and was picked to finish near the bottom of the MEAC.The key to this turn around is none other than former Aggie standout George Small.The Aggies are doing it the only way they know how and that is with a punishing running game and a stifling defense.Keep in mind that this is a young team that will have most of it's players back next season so they will only get better.They are one game from wrapping up the division and the automatic birth in the 1aa playoffs.In order for that to happen they must defeat HIU or SCSU which will be no easy task.Next up HIU.
4.BCC(7-2)-The Cats won a big one over HIU this weekend to keep their playoff hopes alive.BCC will need to win out because another loss will in all likelihood eliminate them from postseason consideration.Suber is the key to the success of BCC as well as their font seven on defense.I say this because in their last 2 games BCC will face an HU team that has a solid ground attack and a FAMU team can kill you if you give their qb time to sit in the pocket.BCC is a very dangerous team but they must stay focused if they are to avoid any slip ups.Next up HU.
5.AA&M-(7-3)The dogs won a big one this weekend by earning their first victory over JSU since joining the SWAC.With an impressive 49-14 victory over the Tigers the dogs have the inside track to the SCG.Next up Alcorn.
6.HIU-(6-3)Hampton has lost 2 in a row and will need a mini miracle to make the postseason.If they can beat A&T next week they could win the tie breaker and get the automatic bid.They had better find some consistency in their passing game if they are to pull off the upset.Next up NCA&T.
7.ASU(5-4)-The Hornets almost pulled a huge upset over GSU but they fell just short of that goal.ASU is not even supposed to be in the hunt with all of the offseason turmoil and controversies.Nevertheless the Hornets still have a shot at the SCG if AA&MU should falter down the stretch.If they don't make it they can still finish strong with an 8-4 record.Next up MVSU.
