DELTA DEVILS INK 20 ON OPENING DAY
Itta Bena, Miss. --- At days end Mississippi Valley State head football coach Willie Totten was elated over the success of the Delta Devils as they signed 15 freshmen and five junior college transfers for a total of 20 commitments on the opening day of the national signing period.
?I?m very, very happy with what we accomplished today. In four years the most we had ever signed before on the first day was nine,? said Totten. ?This continues to show the strides that Mississippi Valley State football has made and the interest level that student-athletes now have in gaining an education as well as playing football here.?
?We pretty much got what we went after. We got size and speed, but most of all pretty much everyone will be eligible this year,? Totten said.
