You sure about that? I saw a pic of a dude who was extremely happy to shake Bell's hand when he came to JSU.

In 2003, I was in Natchitoches for Labor Day with some fam. 1 of my cuz went to the J-State-NSU game. A pro scout sat next to us who came there to watch Kent. At the start of the 2nd qtr., he leaned over and said, "if they don't start doing something, I'm gone...." With about 10 minutes left in the 3rd, he grabbed his bag and said "I'm tired of this sh!t!!! I'm out!" LOL.Man how is it and correct me if I'm wrong...Kent had a stupid Sophomore or JR year...I can't remember but I do know his SR was shatty..well not better to me than his previous years...That dude had some much hype in his career which he deserved...he was good QB, was it when BELL came in that his play started to go down...or change of O.C.s or something..I always wanted to know why he had a crappy SR year...

That game was pitiful display of what was to come. JSU went from a spread offense with passes going over 30yds in the air to I formation and dive plays on 1st and 2nd downs. I don't think JSU completed more than 10 passes (in the air) beyond 20 yards for the whole season. Don't know if he would have made it, but **** (thanks TP) destroyed his senior year.

Wonder where Bell is now....
He just got another HS job.
Has that guy ever had a winning record anywhere he's coached?
Come on TP. You are a smart dude. ¿Didn't you go to Ga Tech?
It's OK to admit it doesn't look good for all our HBCU opponents this year. Bama St. JSU and FAMU all are going to get beat by at least 3 touchdowns. Po Edward Waters is going to lose by 70 or more.
Everything is new at JSU so we really don't know what to expect. However, nobody except JSU fans are expecting JSU to be good this year.
It is interesting (as usual) to see JSU posters backing away from Bell when one poster told Plowdog that Bell was the best coach in the SWAC and another said in the newspaper that they needed to keep Bell, but now refuses to say Bell's name. When JSU fired Hughes I told you that what comes next might be worse. But back to the topic of the thread.....
A&M and Bama State may not be the most hated, but it is the most intense...We don't feel any acrimony for them...We just have some fun at the big game, kick that tail and send them back south. End of story.
BTW, the Magic City Classic is the only rivalry game between HBCU schools that the mainstream media recognizes as one of the most intense games in college football in general.

"Dipping back into the depths of football greatness that is the state of Alabama, we honor an in-state, in-conference and in-division rivalry from the Yellowhammer State that is not Alabama vs. Auburn....
Alabama State Hornets and Alabama A&M Hornets have met 76 times since 1924 in a little grudge match commonly referred to as the Magic City Classic.
The two schools are natural regional rivals... and split the difference every year when they meet halfway in Birmingham’s Legion field for a very closely contested rivalry.
What makes this meeting meaningful, and therefore intense, is the fact that both teams are SWAC East members who have won nine of the 13 divisional titles.... When these two close neighbors meet, they’re more than likely deciding who will represent their division in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship.
It’s long-standing, it’s meaningful...[and] one of the most intense matchups in the game. Alabama A&M holds a paper thin advantage over Alabama State in the all-time series 37-36-3."
"Mainstream media", huh? Translation: "Well the White folks said it. Therefore, it is true."
We just have some fun at the big game, kick that tail and send them back south. End of story.
How's that been working for y'all lately?
If that lightskinneded dude is still your QB we should beat yall this year. He is terrible and wildly overrated

LOL....The Bayou Classic made ESPN's list of best college rivarlies. Doesn't get more mainstream than the worldwide leader in sports.
B/R was founded in 2007 by four lifelong fans who'd consumed their fill of bland Internet sports content. After imagining a more enticing online experience, they set out to create…An amplified outlet for writers whose unique voices were routinely drowned out by cookie-cutter analysts and celebrity "experts"
A localized network for readers whose favorite teams were routinely under-covered by national wire services and mainstream news corporations
A civilized community for commenters whose intelligent debates were routinely overrun by message-board blowhards and mean-spirited trolls
So it was that a few really good ideas gave birth to one really big sports media company. Although we've grown by multiple orders of magnitude since the early days, it's hard to find any part of the modern B/R experience that wasn't at least dreamed of in those first inspired brainstorming sessions.

I can see why you would say that. However, he is the best QB we have had since Leon Murray guided us to back to back OVC championships in 1999. Hands down the best QB in BCF this year. One of the best in FCS. The reason he's not Mr. All everything preseason is because he decided to dance on a Ford escort and got suspended.
He didn't look good against JSU last year, however that was his first game back from suspension.
He was 4-14 for 42 yards vs. JSU and we still easily beat you. He's going to be ready this season. Even though he missed a lot of time due to suspension and injury he still put up good numbers
84-140 1168 yards. 13 TDS 0 Ints.
Bottom line. We are going to beat the Shat out of you guys this year.
So says some chick named Amy Daughters LOL
Guess it is easier to attack the messenger than the message. Did not this lady know about all of the rivalries in college football in general? To know specifically about the MCC is proof to me that she is knowledgeable about college football in general. She probably knew about the Bayou Classis too. Maybe the BC was one of the best rivalries at one time, but it has fallen down.
Just understand that the MCC will soon be nationally recognized and will replace the BC as the face of HBCU football. This article was the first step in that direction.
Birmingham vs. New Orleans????????
Dude.... No CONTEST!!!
