Moral Loss Grambling

If you play a cover 2 this year like you did last year let me tell you what is going to happen.

First, Superman is going to pick you apart underneath. We have a patient offense now and rarely do we go up top. Cover 2 will leave you exposed underneath. Manning will have a big day.

Secondly, Tarnaka will eat you up. TSU played a cover 2, thats why Tarnaka had a big day. So this is simply a case of pick your poison.

SU brought Hartman up to the line to stop the run and blitz Kent.....once we adjusted to that, you saw what happened. Defenses are at our mercy this year. Nothing you do can stop us. Unless you have hella LBs that can straight out stop the run man on man, you are going to be in trouble. You dont have those LBs this year. That means we are going to run the ball at will and pass the ball when needed. The only thing you can do is hope for turnovers.

You are outmanned this year. Itll take a few more years of development before you will be able to deal with us.

Do you realize that only one team in the west has a winning record?

The two defenses you named are no where near as good as our defense is. We don't have to bring a man up on the line to stop the run because our front seven does that for us. We don't have to worry about the underneath pass because we play man. Cover two is just the safties. When you are in a dime, meaning have two additional CBs, Cover two is just to prevent the deep ball. You're only hope is to throw to the slot and there is nothing for certain there either. You better hope Manning is running crossing routes because he isn't going to be doing anything with those out routes and curls you were doing to TSU. Denmark Reed will be waiting on him then, too. I know you remember that name. He's playing a lot better this year than he did last.

Oh yeah... Outmanned??? Why? What says that? A few years to compete??? That's silly... We had a better recruiting class than you. We have a better defense than you. We have the second best offense to you. So what makes us out manned and unable compete for three years? Think about this... If we beat you this year and you don't win the SWAC. We will have the same team next year and the year after that. You better be looking in the mirror before you make statements like that.

About the West... Yes the rest are weak teams. That's why I don't understand why anyone from J-State would believe that Grambling won't be at the SCG. Talking about Southern having the inside track. That's comical. Everyone knows that the team going to the SCG always comes out the BC. EVERY YEAR... This year will be no different. The way Southern is playing Texas Southern might sneak them if they have a good game. We can judge how Southern will do after this weeks game against AAMU. If they can't beat them, say it ain't so, they won't beat us.

It's all about perception. Our receivers are legit route runners and deceptively strong after the catch, not just effective 'in space'. We've seen more than just zone coverage this year, you know.

I knew last year that the best thing to happen to us over the summer would be the departure of T.C. Taylor and Lawrence Story. Why you ask? Because those guys weren't really receivers. They were converted QBs who happened to be versatile athletes. They weren't especially good route runners did most of their damage due to their sheer size. The guys we have now are true wideouts, and the biggest difference between this year's group and last year's group is speed. We can stretch the field now, which is another reason why our underneath game is tough to stop. Ask Lenny Williams, the best corner in the SWAC, if Manning, Jones, and Gordon aren't legit.


We have played this way against all the passing teams so far. At least when the game is on the line. We do have the number one pass defense in the SWAC.

Ah, but that's biggest mistaken assumption our opponents consistently make about us this season. Contrary to what you may believe, we are not a passing team. We are very balanced. In fact, our running game has been a lot more consistent that our passing game so far. That's the difference a healthy offensive line makes. And if you think we're going to be foolishly one-dimensional this year like we were the last year and a half, then you're in for a rude awakening.

So to say you are the #1 pass defense in the SWAC is ludicrous. We held TSU to 100 yards passing. They got a garbage long pass at the end of the game to give them about 150.

You confused me with your explanation of the dime. If you play dime, the running game will kill you. YOu dont have a front seven with a dime....you only have 5.....Tarnaka will rule. You will have to eventually bring up a safety and put an LB in to stop the run. When you do, we are going over your head to the vacated side.

Believe me, this wont be like last year. Denmark Reed better GET READY to make some tackles downfield.

Chris Brown is the best cornerback in the SWAC. Our "other" corner, Octavius Bond, is also very dayum good in coverage and against the run. Denmark Reed is also an All-American at safety and our strong safety Michael Daigre will punish whomever dares to cross the middle attempting to catch a pass.

Kent will have about 4 interceptions against our secondary. It's gonna be a different story when yall face the best secondary in the conference!

Facts are facts. We have the best pass defense period. Those oppenents still tired to pass to no success. Langston passed the majority of the game. They weren't good enough at it but they tired. All they ran was shotgun the majority of the game. Spin it if you like.

Let me break down our dime for you since you haven't seen it since last year. It's a little different. Instead of us bringing two CBs off the side. We bring in a safety and a CB. We move our SS up to third corner. Now, our front four, one LB, one SS, and one CB/LB he plays both depending on the formation is a front seven. They stop the run. Still trying to understand? There is no vacated side since we then have two FS in the game.

Reed will be making downfield blocks after all the interceptions we get. Like usually...

As for the Southern in our head comment... No need to address it. They will play themselves out of it. Enough said...
 
Basically, what you are saying is that Langston did not have the offensive horses to run their type of offense like we do. Looks like all we have to do is put Kent in the shotgun and we score 50 on Gram. Trust me, since some of you like stats, you will notice that we are actually running more plays than we are passing. This is JSU offense 1994-1999. We did not have offensive lines in 2000 and 2001. We are back to what Shannon had in place. You alll also better hope that we don't decide to work the TE back into our offense becasue 1-AA would not be ready for that.

Dude......if you play the dime.....we are going to run the ball. The dime will cause you to have 4DLs, 1LB, and 6DBs. That means in the trenches, you have 1 on 1 blocking. All we will do at that point is give the ball to Tarnaka or Nolen off tackle. You can tackle them 8 yards downfield if you want to, we dont care. Since you are so into stats, did you see the one where JSU leads the SWAC in rushing? Do you know why we lead the SWAC in rushing? Cause we run the ball.

On top of that, if you bring a safety anywhere close to the line, you are going to get molested deep. You have no choice in the matter. The best you can do pick which poison you want to take. If you trust Bond or Brown one on one against Jones and Jacobs, then so be it. You notice, I havent even mentioned Manning, our top WR. You wanna how he got that way? Apparently you think you can check Manning one on one too huh?.

Gram simply is not on our level this year. Its going to be 2 years before you are able to compete with us and get your talent level up the the standards we have set. In all sincerity and with no bias at all, this one is not going to be close. If you come within 3 TDs, I will consider this a moral loss kinda like you guys had last weekend.

You are clearly too full of the hype that all the JSU posters have been giving each other. Ya'll get on here speaking names of WRs and RBs and QBs. Do you think that the more you say their names the more catches they will have against us? You said names all last year. You got beat. You got dominated. You were there. I know you know. Don't you??? To think all of a sudden we aren't on your level is ridiculous and absurd. Who's level are you on? AT&T or Tennessee State? What teams can compete with you since you are so bold? All of you were going crazy when you lost to AT&T. Losing your minds... Now you are back above everyone else because you beat TSU, Southern and VALLEY. Hear that again... TSU, Southern and Valley!!! We are not the same team from last year, and neither are you. You could have all of your players back from last years defense and we would still beat you. This game is not going to be close.

You dont have the LBs, DBs, or offense to contend with us. You think you have a good defense cause you stopped Langston and 0-11. You couldnt stop Alcorn man....what happened to tha devestating defense. Didnt Alcorn score 35 points.....about the same amount they scored on PB?

It takes nuts and guts to write this, knowing the pain you face on Oct. 27th. We could not stop J-State last year -- LOL -- GR, man that was low and pitiful. This game was Miami/Nebraska reincarnated. Your Qb is a great student (academically), but he is dumb on the field (not his fault).

Coach Roach gives too many looks for a primitive J-State offense. We blitz the LBers, and drop the DE into a zone (zone dog). We bring the safety up, and blitz the CB, etc. Has anyone figured this out yet? Have you looked at the game again? Five/six of those ints were AT&T telegraphed. Now, all of a sudden Kint is improved with the same Flintstone offense and coaching?

GR, write this down -- the offense is better this year, and the defense has the same, if not better athletic ability this year. It is so difficult to write a comeback, when the result of Oct. 26th is so obvious. Reading your posts, this lost might keep you off the board for a while like SUcks after tomorrow.

Sup...I like the way you phrased that......they have better "athletic" ability. The fact is your defense is not and can not make plays like it did last year. If your defense is so good, why couldnt you stop McNeese? Why did they rape you? Is it because they are white? Why did Alcorn score so many points? Two of your TDs came off of questionable fumble returns against Alcorn.....do you really think you are better than them? They scored a looot of offensive points. Do you really think McNeese and Alcorn would have scored all those points on you last year?

Dude.....take this crap you are preaching somewhere else bruh. You cute, but you aint that cute. Do you think Roach invented the zone blitz? Did he use it against Langston, McNeese, or Alcorn? Those 3 schools averaged 40 points a game against Roaches devastating confusing hard to figure out defense.

Man, this is sad. Our eleven players on offense are better than Buffalo. Our eleven players on defense are better. Our reserves are better. This is the bottom line. How can Kint find a receiver when his WR's route is disrupted from the bump and run? Our corners are big and fast. We do not play that 15 yd crap of the WR like those b.s. teams Buffalo played thus far. Now of a sudden Buffalo has a defense. In your first game you gave up 55; second 42 -- to D2 A&T. G-MEN will have 500 yds offense and score at least 40 pts.

BTW, we will beat Alcorn's @$$ again the Gramblingham. The pain you will feel watching Alcorn in the SCG, I would not wish on my worst enemy.

You almost lost to a team that your rival destroyed. One correct call on a third down and you are 2-3. Look at yourself... Your offense doesn't change the fact the your defense is still garbage. If you hold Alabama State to a respectable level of offense then maybe I'll consider your defense. Right now... You still are scared. I can tell by every post you put on this board. That scares you... We aren't close to your prediction of us barely being a winning team. We picked apart your sister school that you just knew would run through us. If you think that you did what you wanted to us last year or you picked us apart then play like that this year too. We will enjoy another victory. You are sad. Saying that only six drives ended on INTs. For real??? Did you say that? That's why your sorry team lost. We aren't looking for you to give us anything. We are going to take it. Unlike your team... We make plays. You just talk about them. No matter what you do against any other team the only thing that matters is how you preform when you play us. You can throw for 4,000 yards and run for 2,000 against everyone else. We don't care. You can have all the individual awards. We don't care. We will have the championship like normal. We are a team and you are individuals. That's why we win and you lose. A team of good players will always beat a team of great individuals. Look at the US basketball team. Reminds me of the most talent team in the SWAC. Talent don't mean anything if you don't produce. Go home and watch the SCG like always on TV. Or you come and watch us play in it again. We don't care. So you can see how a TEAM plays.

All these "so-called" blue chip athletes never win a dayum champioship game. You know why...cuz they're cowards. When they face a quality opponent with a Coach who knows talent and
how to get the most out of that talent they lose.

Mark my words, they will lose to Alabama State and GSU this month and then it will be talk about Turning Hughes Loose.
It's gonna really be bad for them after they let A&M sneak up on them...Wouldn't that be something. Annie Mae beating the "other two". Kent will let them down again...Jackson State has never been a true champion regardless of how much talent is on the field. I've been watching them a long time and they have always found a way to fold down the stretch. Don't know what it is, but off all the teams in Mississippi (BCF) they have the most "talent" but the least "heart".
