Moral Loss Grambling

Now make up your mind! At first yall said we were depleted, then after TnState you said we were a good team, playing well, now you say we're exposed. Apparently, you don't know what the hell to think...I guess we're in your head more than you care to admit.

Did McNeese kick our azz? Hell yeah! Did we cheat to beat Alcorn? Hell no! Our defense made some big plays to keep us in the game and our offense did the job when the game was on the line. Alcorn had the bad fortune of losing Kris Peters to an injury and due to an injury, we made a change at corner with Octavius Bond from backup safety to starting corner. Now Bond's is turning in an all-SWAC performance opposite our All-American corner Chris Brown.

That spells trouble for Kent and company. Our secondary is set...I didn't even mention Kent's favorite "receiver" Denmark Reed (our "other" All-American) or Strong Safety Mike Daigre who has been making big hits and plays reminiscent of Kalvin Pearson last year. BTW, Daigre caused the fumble that Bonds scored for our first TD against Alcorn, scored a defensive fumble for a touchdown against the Braves and also scored against TnState on a fumble return. Then against Langston, he recorded a safety on Langston's last possesion. Yall in trouble again!

3 Grambling had a pitiful performance against a poor 0-11 team and skated by with a victory.
4 Grambling goes to La Vegas and worked a down trotten TSU team...looking like world beaters in the process.
5 Grambling has a lack luster performance against a very poor Langston team.

1. We did get worked by McNeese and no one for Grambling would deny that.

2. We got worked by Alcorn??? Led the majority of the game... Never down by much... True starting QB only played a quarter and a half... Yet we got worked? I thought ALcorn was suppose to be good. Are you now saying they aren't? Make up your mind. If they are good then the game was suppose to be close. Plus this whole ref thing is getting tired and old. That's your excuse for everything. Next thing you will be saying that if they didn't turn the ball over like JSU always does then they would have won. NO... REALLY???? YOU THINK? But check this out, even if we hadn't gotten that touchdown off the fumble, the game still would have been tied at the end. So, what says that Alcorn would have won then?

3. We had a pitiful preformance and skated by??? We were up by double digits at half time and they were scoreless. Personally, I think we could have scored more but we were just running out the clock the whole second half. AAMU points came from two big plays. Clearly, that's not getting worked. Or maybe I just don't know your definition of it.

4. Are you upset we beat a team that you played worse than you did? Did you forget that TSU has only beat PV this year? Is that making you take a different look at your own team? Didn't ya'll only beat them by 3?

5. We did play bad and overlooked Langston. I talk with the football players the whole week before the game. All they could say is they hope that they can get up for the game. Clearly, they didn't.

Now, if this is how you judge us being not good all of a sudden. Let's take a look at your team:

1. Got worked (as you say) by So. Miss.

2. Got worked (your words) by AT&T. You know the score doesn't show how bad it was for you. Thank God... Kent made the score look respectable. What was the score after the third? But, of course, you would say it was a fluke.

3. Skated by (again your words) a TSU team that you thought was good this year. Clearly, after Grambling and FAMU got through with them, everyone saw the truth.

4. Dominated a down Southern team. Hey kind of like we dominated a down TSU team...

5. Only beat Valley 36 - 12... Weren't ya'll the ones talking about putting 100 on them? What happened? Are they better than you though?

By your standards that's 4 piss poor games and 1 good game. So, it seems to me that the 4 bad games are indicitive of your true team rather than the 1 good game. (once again, in your own words)

But, I guess it's just the way you look at it.

So, answer the question, are we depleted, a good team, or exposed? And I ask you to answer the same question for your own team before you rant and rave like normal about how great you are. Clearly, you are trying to make yourself feel better.

You sound like a bully. Always down graded other people to make yourself feel better. Clearly, you need a friend.

These are the two biggest bull**** statements placed on this board since its existence. You guys sound like Gary Condit when somebody asks him about that intern. WHAT THE UFKC DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH THE PRICE OF TEA IN CHINA Who gives a damn about how is playing CB now? The fact is a bad call gave you an unfair advantage causing you to win this game.....and thats the bottom line.

Im not saying Grambling cheated....I know better. I am saying that incomptent officiating caused Alcorn to lose that game. They were about to win that game going away until that piss poor debacle. They were up 8 going in at the time. So if you guys cant admit that this was a piss poor call, then so be it. You won fair and square and you are better than Alcorn. Shhheeeeesh

Are all of you like this?

I guess there is no use of asking if you are going to answer the question.

Oh yeah and if you take anything out of context it can be spinned any way you see fit. In which you clearly did... How about you read the whole post and maybe you would understand. Or was it too painful to realize that you logic can be placed on your team, too? JSU doesn't look as good as you thought anymore. Remember when you were 3 months ahead of everyone in the SWAC. Too bad, you weren't 3 months ahead of everyone on your schedule. I guess 5 weeks allows people to catch up, huh?

Hey go start another post about how JSU has fixed their defense, special teams, turnover, blocking, and coaching problems.

Hey Gsup

Brian Morgan is 1-10 on field goal attempts.

hmmmmmmmmmm....I wondered why you havent been bragging on him lately. Guess its just a soph. jinks huh?

Acutally he's hurt... He pulled a muscle in his leg when the season started.

What's the reason why your kicker is 12-18 on PATs? Can't get it up?

Weeelllll

Hey I was just wondering.....I hope he gets better. Its not like you are going to need him on Oct 26th. Believe me......you wont be doing any kickoffs, and you damn sure wont need him for extra points. You will need him to kick the ball off either at the beginning of the game or after halftime. After that, you can do a Victor Ike and keep him on the sideline for the rest of the game.

GR, YOU DON'T BELIEVE THAT YOURSELF.FRAM WILL BEAT JSU JUST LIEK LAST YEAR BY MAKING KENT THINK UNDER PRESSURE ADN HE DOES NOT DO THAT VERY WELL!!!!!

GRAM 56
JSU 24

EUGENE PASSES FOR 500 AND WINS WHILE KENT PASSES FOR 800 AND LOOSES AGAIN!!!!!!!

Wow....hey I like this. You are taking the place of JR as someone that can have a football conversation. I didnt see this earlier....

To be honest with you, JSU isnt looking as good as I had hoped offensively(at least we are not putting up as many points). I think the problem is we are soo good and have so much talent, the players think they can turn it on when they get ready. But with that, we are executing and calling better plays this year than last. Asberry has progressed a whole lot in one year and has learned how to be patient. I guess a running game will do that for you. kent is not making mistakes he made last year. No senior WRs trying to go pro pressuring him to throw them the ball. Scarey huh? I knew we would be better with younger WRs with Kent as the leader instead of a WR as the team leader.

Now I do believe and the numbers do support the fact that our special teams, coaching, defense, blocking, and coaching problems are much better this year.

You dont lead the league in passing and rushing without good blocking. Our special teams are leaps and bounds beyond last year. You havent heard anything bad about them since the USM game. We punt well, we kick off well, and we need to work on extra points. The kid kicks field goals well, I guess extra points are too close. Plus he has begun to kick the ball off into the endzone. If we can get him to do that on a regular basis, look out.

Fumbles are something we need to work on....but just like your performance against Langston, kids lose concentration and dont hold onto the ball. But then again, Bruce threw 3 ints against Langston didnt he. I guess the Langston defense confused him.

So if you dont believe that we are much better in all aspects of the game, then so be it. See you on the 26th.

Do you see how I pointed out the positive and the negatives. It doesnt bother me that we have things to work on. But Im sure you Grambling folks think you are perfect in every aspect eventhough you are giving up 29 points a game to DIAA or worse opponents and your defense is not getting better.

WHAT???!!!! THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SoGgY!!! MIKEB!!!! SUGE!!!! You all have some explaining to do. This man goes to bat for you all everytime and you have not allowed the only fan that attended Eddie Rob's last home game to enter the "Halls of Greatmess.....errr..ness" yet? You all should be down right ashamed of yourselves.

STC, bruh I feel your pain. But posting nonsense things do not help your case. I mean, you went out on a limb to say what you had to say and they (Cartel) still did not let you in. Maybe you need to return to your former self and just let them know where you stand with the Langston game. Tell the truth and shame the devil. Why did you all let a D2 team beat and drag you all up a down the field like the Romans did Paul and Silias?

Bean,

You are showing your youth. Langston is not even D2....they are NAIA. Its was like an intramural football team that almost beat Gram. Thats the significance of this moral loss. Now do you understand?

Bean

you gotta realize that langston is just a squad that shows up on saturdays to have a little fun. It would be like if you got 25 boys outta Dixon Hall, and they went out and dropped 30 on Grambling.

There use to be some ruff dudes in Dixon. More like if they went got 50 dudes from the Honors Dorm and asked the if they wanted to play Grambling.

Actually... If you were to go to the Sports Board then you would be able to find where I pointed out our flaws in the Langston game. I have no problem saying we need to get better. I don't want to be good enough to only beat SWAC teams. I want to be good enough to beat every team on our schedule. Maybe ya'll should try that.

As for the comments about JSU, I saw the improvement in Kint's decision making but he still has bad mechanics. He throws off his back foot a lot and the fact that his line doesn't back well doesn't help. Kint gets hit more times than anyone. You might not allow a lot of sacks but he is still getting tagged. Against bad secondaries it doesn't show up but when he plays corners who play bump and run like we do then it can come into play. The ball has to be tighter and not stay in the air as long because the DBs won't have as far to run. Instead of the 10 yards cushions that most people play.

I think that you defense has played better but giving the offenses you have faced this year makes the point is mute. Southern has struggled against everyone so that was normal. They couldn't score against PB. Valley is improved but far from making an impact. So. Miss. doesn't count... Tennessee State game was a shock. They drove a lot during that game.

Kicking game has improved. I can't really speak on the punting though. It still looks shaky to me. Turnovers are the biggest killer. I'm sure you already know that. You will not be able to give up 6 to us and think you will win. Neither will we be able to give up six to you and expect the same. Our offense is more explosive but not as disiplined as last year. WE have our moments. Special teams isn't were it should be but with health it will get better.

As for the Langston game... All their points came off our turnovers except the first TD. Two TDs off fumbles... Far from our defense giving up points. They only had around 200 yards total offense. They scored off our mistakes. Our defense is solid... Trust. Still number one in the SWAC in terms of yardage.

Gram4Life, great post!

U NEED TO TAKE NUMBER 3 OFF OF THE LIST. IF U WERE AT THE GAME, GRAM TOTALLY DOMINATED ALA A&M. MAN GET REAL. THE ONLY BAD GAMES THAT WE PLAYED WERE AGAINST LANGSTON, WHO WE PROBABLY DIDN'T EVEN PRACTICE FOR AND MCNEESE. AND IF WE HAD A REMATCH AGAINST EITHER OF THOSE TEAMS, THERE WOULD BE A VERY BIG DIFFERENCE IN BOTH OUTCOMES. WE PLAYED AGAINST A DECENT ALCORN TEAM THAT GAVE US A LITTLE COMPETITION. WE ONLY HAVE 10 SENIORS STARTING AND STILL NOBODY CAN PLAY WITH US (UNLESS WE LET THEM). SO WHAT DOES THAT SAY FOR U.:(

Hmmmm.....if I were to say the same thing about the NCAT&T game for JSU, what would you guys say? But I wont.

Gram...I appreciate your analysis. You are not like the rest of these buster Gram posters.

Dude, give our defense credit. They are good, very good.

As far as Kents mechanics, they do need work, but its going to be hard to get him to change because of the strength of his arm.

The difference between JSU this year and last is astronomical. If you think you can blitz and press, so be it. You are going to get burned. I like my WRs on your DBs anyday. Try it and see what happens.

Where o where is October 26th.

GR, thank you and JST for helping me understand. So, they're kinda like that flag football league that they use to play over on the old field behind the football dorms, huh SoGgY? Do you all still have that old field behind the football dorm, MikeB?

I do think that is the reason you lost the AT&T game. That is obvious. But there are all kinds of reasons you lose games. Easily we can point out excuses why we lost any game. It will never change the point that we lose. No one expects the Detroit Lions to beat anybody but they will and have beat someone. It's all on your team if you are overconfident, which we were against Langston and you were against AT&T.

As far as your defense goes, I do think they have gotten better. It would have been a shame on the coaching staff if they couldn't see that was the most important thing to work on. I just haven't seen them except for against Southern and Tennessee State to really judge if they are good. In the Southern game, your defense played good and in the TSU game they played okay. So, I can't speak on them as you can since you have seen them in action more than I.

As for the WRs vs. DBs... I think ya'll are better in space (i.e. Rams, Florida Gators). In true bump and run, the game is totally different. Mostly likely we will also being playing Cover 2 with 3 safties the majority of the game. If any different I would be shocked. We have played this way against all the passing teams so far. At least when the game is on the line. We do have the number one pass defense in the SWAC.

We have the best one on one CBs in the SWAC. The teams we have played so far haven't even thrown in Chris Browns direction. Except Langston, we see what happened then 2 interceptions. They have throw at Bond with no success. Most of the yards in the passing game has come from the Slots and Backs or on WR screens. But again, no one has gotten a lot on those either. Thanks to are front four pash rush. We do led the SWAC in sacks as a team. Our blitzing mostly comes from our linebackers. We still have the best defense in the SWAC yardage wise. We are giving up points mostly off of the offenses mistakes. Cut down mistakes; cut down opponents scoring.

Oh I can't wait until Oct 26 either. I think that game will be the best game in BCF all year. Too bad BET isn't showing that one. They have some geniuses working over there.
