To be honest, when you consider the late start their coaching staff got, the Ed Reed fiasco and how it effected their ability to recruit, BC has done well to keep so many games close.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they move close to the top of the food chain very soon. Texas Southern program looks better as well and I wouldn’t be surprised if they turn the corner soon as well.

The question of what if…..if I was Ed Reed I would have had fun coaching there.

Honestly, if BCU had an offense, they would be kind of dangerous.

Think about how many close games they’ve lost in the SWAC this season.

I can't speak for the SWAC west because I haven't seen many teams play, but for the SWAC east I can say this. FAMU is winning because they brought back the majority of the team from 2022. They have all the right pieces in place so this is there year. Next year will be rebuilding for them. JSU is the victim of switching coaches and jellying with a new coach and replacing players. Don't expect them to lay down next year. Alabama St needs a new offensive coordinator and they will be dangerous. Bama ST defense is good and keeps them in games. Alabama A&M needs a QB plane and simple and we would be undefeated even beating Vanderbilt. No solid QB ruined our season. We should have went after at least two QB's in the transfer portal. Relying on one dude from FBS was stupid. Valley team has heart they just need investing from the alumni and administration. Valley never quits and is a goldmine waiting to happen. Bethune is the same as Valley. Funding is a major part D1 ball.

Even with the new players, coaches etc its the sp teams that has been our achilles heel (losing 4 kickers). Every loss can be traced back to that. That negative 4 yard punt against y'all was the worst thing I've seen in football all year 😆 🤣 😂.

We HAD a qb on campus…. He got upset because he wasn’t named the starter after the Vandy game and he dipped. Now he will be at his 4th school. The qbs we have aren’t consistent at all.. They both have been named SWAC POTW this season then the next week they look BAD. I just don’t understand it. I would get rid of BOTH of them next year.

Yeah, I think FAMU will be in rebuilding mode next season. Simmons is sure to get some knocks on his door this off-season for coaching opportunities. I truly think he’ll get G5 job…and I don’t think any FAMUAN would be mad, because he’s done tremendous job for the Rattlers and if not for Deion, he might already have a couple SWAC Titles.

BCU would still be in decent shape if it wasn’t for that horrible president they had a few years. They were quietly the best HBCU athletic departments even with the lack of resources and space facility wise…they were solid across the board in ever sport during the 2010s

MVSU…being located in Itta Bena is just tough.

ASU and AAMU are similar to me. So much potential to be great, but something just holds them back…and I don’t know what it is
