Tebow....I mean Jarmin will save Comegy's career with a mild/small upset today.

Unfortunately it seems like Comegy doesn't wanna hurt Bray's feelings by benching him so until he does (and stop with the trickeration in the red zone) the offense will stay stagnant.

I only caught the first quarter of the game when we down 14-10 after a TD pass and the 3rd quarter when we got down 35-10 but got 2 INTs and a blocked punt that ended up in ASU's red zone. 0 points including putting Chambers in to throw a pass (resulted in an INT).

On to Grambling. Congrats ASU

Valley is this bad EVERY year.

Yeah, but not with recruiting classes on their sidelines like this. I am not expecting them to be contenders at this point, but I at least thought they would be able to win a few games under Rick Comegy at this point. I wonder if he is going to be there next year.

I have agreed with many of your recruiting comments Base, bu this Valley team I see is the worst I have seen in avery long time. Maybe Rick bit off too much. I think it's time for Valley to beg one of those Mississippi JUCO winning coaches to take a step up in the ranks.

No coach has successfully tapped into the juco circuit so it must be something that prevents them from easily coming over

In Mississippi the Juco's are just safe havens for the SEC schools. For those players that don't initially qualify are sent to these schools....They make sure those players get back to their respective schools. The level of play in the Mississippi JUCO ranks is pretty high. Even those players that somewhat fall through the cracks rarely fall to the SWAC. Too many "next tier " schools in the vicinity. (LA. Tech, Troy, Tulane, Memphis, Ark. State....etc.)

Asberry would be a good catch for a sipp school as he got Mississippi jucos into tsu all the time and they produced

Their best receiver and returner is from pearl river

Buddy Stephens of Eastern Mississippi CC might finally be interested in moving up the latter. Valley might need to give him a look.

Stephens success has been predicated on the level of talent he's had at East. He can't coach and the talent won't follow him to Itta Bena. Non-qualifying athletes go to East as a stop gap until a D1 program comes calling. No disrespect to Valley, but Stephens is not the answer. Comegy is getting his time in for his state funded retirement. He is not coaching for the program or his next job, he's coaching for a 13th check.

I don't want Buddy Stephens ass anywhere near my school. Valley needs a young, brash, and hungry unknown coach to roll his sleeves up and build. Period, point blank.

I thought about this since Saturday and I agree with you. You can get away with what Buddy does at a community college. Valley would be in APR hell if he transferred (no pun intended) his EMCC mentality to the D1 level. JSU is the only school that seemingly has got away with being so transfer heavy on high risk/high star athletes.

Valley needs some offensive minded upstart to work with what we got and go from there.

LMAO! My mom retired from The State of MS. She be waiting on that 13th check every year!

Not unless it was court ordered lol. I've only seen clips of that show and know he wants no parts of Itta Bena lol. However stranger things have happened...

Hopson was more comfortable in Alcorn/HBCU settings so if Valley went that route, it would have to be some upstart who is familiar with HBCU settings and Mississippi. Doubt Buddy would be willing to move up the coaching ranks with Valley as his first D1 HC job

Hopson was/is a journeyman coach. He has personality, people skills, and a high aptitude for coaching. Buddy is a hot head........Damn the person that brought up Buddy Stephens. I'm not expending anymore energy on this subject.

Buddy Stephens is not well-liked in the State of MS. If it weren't for his recruits, MS's D1 schools would have nothing to do with him. He couldn't land a job on anyone's staff in MS. Maybe Delta State or MS College would take him, but they are D2.
