Reflections from the 2019 season....
Offense is on target; however, we have got to address the defense. I am not saying we need coaching changes, new schemes or recruiting players that fit the philosophy of the coaches. Just saying we have got to address the defensive side of the ball.
I am super proud of the direction that Coach Maynor has our Bulldogs going in. He has brought in a no matter who you play, we can win attitude. It's no secret that the top 3 teams in the SWAC are SU, GSU and Alcorn. We were competitive in all 3; thus, looking forward to the 2020 season. I think he is ahead of schedule. Most Athletic Directors who provide 4 year contracts to coaches should have this philosopy when one is trying to change a program (it takes time).
Year 1 - Lose big
Year 2 - Lose close
Year 3 - Win close
Year 4 - Win big
Year 5 - An established program....
PS: If you can win early in year 1 and 2, you are moving in the right direction....
