OC called a horrible game. they've been preaching run the ball all off season, then came out and didn't call a run play until early 2nd quarter. I can understand wanting to get davis cooking but not running the ball, making the offense one dimensional, is not a recipe for success. starting rb howell didn't play until the 2nd half and then only got 6 carries. then you finally switch qbs but with a few minutes left and the game on the line. It wasn't fair to stewart to put him in that situation. davis should have gotten a halp and stewart should have come in to start the 3rd with the plan to also play the rs freshman.
they played a bunch of young guys but their approach was to mix those guys in early b/c they thought they had enough, instead of trying to blow miles out early then play young guys in extended garbage time. also still don't like how they use davis in the run or pass game. if his best asset are his legs then there should be much more read option to use those legs. in the pass game they aren't using tight ends at all and not using the middle of the field or backs in the screen game. defense gave up a td at the end of each half. unacceptable.
johnson though is a man. he had the prettiest one handed catch you'll see this year.
