Miles Davis....Dayum Man!!

Suge

The Phat Mack
It is official, as of this moment on. I am now, and forever a Miles Davis Junkie. In the last 2 weeks, I have actually bought 5 Miles albums....yes five. (*****es Brew, Essenitial Miles Davis, Love Songs, Ballads, On the Corner....and I was already rocking Kind of Blue, Best Of Miles and Coltrane, Miles(Ken Burns Jazz, and some greatest hits joints) And the sad thing is....I still have so many more to go. I don't know if I am just getting old, or what it is. But I am now an official convert! I should have listened to Ntelekt long ago.

If being on drugs can get you to do what this man does musically. then I say, smoke on!

P.S. - Ntelekt....umm If I send you some blansk CD's, umm do you think you could....help a brutha out? Didn't you say you had that *****es Brew 4 CD set? :D

Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, electric piano....send Help, and money!

Miles is the bizness. I have some LP's (yes, LP's) that have to be 40 years old, if not more. I love to listen to them because they have that real old, scratchy kinda sound to them, but I need to get me some clear sounding Miles.

I also have Sarah Vaughn and others on LP, too!

I tried to TOLD you! :D

Ironically, I STILL have a long way to go before I get my collection to where I want it.

Uhhhh....I DO have the 4 cd set, but I dont' have the means to burn them...
*shrugs shoulders*

What about Birth of Cool and the Silent Way Sessions (3cd set)?

We need to start a Jazz Club, who's down?

Miles Iz Da Man!!!

I head some good Miles stuff before, and I've owned Tutu for quite some time. But nothing matched Kind of Blue!! I was a commited Miles fan after that one. That was (still is) one very  brotha!!

Miles Junkie Too....

SUGE,
There is nothing wrong with appreciating the work of
a MASTER... and make no mistake...Miles is a
MASTER.

Reccomendations:
"At Last"
"The Musings of Miles"
"Round about Midnight"
"Round Dolphin Street"

...As far as the "Jazz Club" Idea. I can supply all the
Nina Simone anyone could ever want. She's my
favorite.

In fact anyone can have it all....go to:
www.audiogalaxy.com

Let's get the Jazz Club Rolling....

Audiogalaxy is cool but it is nothing like ready made collections..

I guess we can start an email distribution list for all those interested... We can nail out particulars from there...

email me @ [email protected] and let me know if you want to get down..

*note although it is a jazz club, we won't neglect other forms of music*

You beat me to it. I think Kind of Blue may be THE definitive classic work of Miles Davis. That, Round About Midnight and Porgy and Best or my favorite Miles' CDs.

There are just sooooo many to buy!!

Well Dirty I am down, and we will have to work out the particulars later. But between all of us, I would think that we can really have some hellafied collections. I am more than willing to contribute from my collection. And don't mind shipping my CD's to some folks. Granted you people have to take dayum good care of my property!

In my crates, I have some
Coltrane
George Benson( I love guitar jazz)
Charles Mingus
Charlie Parker
Thelonius Monk

Most of these I have multiple CD's from their collections!

Now Miles...I've been sleeping on him...but will have to broaden my jazz infatuation to add Miles Davis.
