WOW! You're even _ _ _der than I thought.

I see that when a question is posed, and your diversion is pointed out, you are reduced to calling the question "dumb."

Please explain what makes the question "dumb."

Well, truthfully MH. I dont expect for you to answer anything. I mean, your administration didnt do it, so why should the alumni? The only person that answer questions is Crazy. And I respect him for that. All you do is: :lmao: , :( all day long and Slickpiss just agree with you. I dont see any other Ala. View posters anymore. I guess they are just too embarrased to show their faces after PROUDLY posting their "Cole-blooded Tour" comments on the board. The other Ala. View poster I see every now and then is, Unknown. And we dont even know who he represent. I guess that mystery will remain UNKNOWN.

Oh yeah, and I cant forget Macbfac. But we already know how he feels about his school and football program.

:(

Preciate that!

hopefully prodigy feels like that too!!!!!

now back to McPherson

Hope it works out for him and he doesnt have to transfer to a 4th school!

I know MH, I wish our defense was "worser" maybe we could have held you all to just one TD rather than two.

You did not have to quote the CL...I will be the first to say that our d-line is our problem area at this point but we do have a good first string. Depth is the problem. Your whole team is soft.

Yup, and you would have won instead of lost and you would have gone to the SCG too.
Sooooo, you probably don't wanna travel that road.

..I will be the first to say that our d-line is our problem area at this point but we do have a good first string. Depth is the problem.
Not only do you have a lack of depth, you have a lack of talent too. Your dline was the worst I saw last year (easily manhandled, blown off the line, got NO pressure on the QB, and looked like they didn't know the schemes), and from what's being said, they're worser this year. Just like the past few years, if a team has a decent offense, they will beat you. Point blank!
Cause your defense will suck real bad. (that's a given)
(not to mention that option offense Bell is trying to run :smh: )

back to McPherson, hope it works out.

Well, MH, your team won't have an offense or a defense. Are you all still scared to play TNState? Man, I really hope LC gets his job back. I want Bell to kick his arse in the worst way.

Not at all.
speaking of being scared to play somebody, I know the REAL reason you hate that 9 game SWAC schedule. The nerve of the SWAC to make you all play TxSu after yall have been running from them ever since they came to Confederate and beat you in '00.
:(

You mean to tell me that there will not be a "2003 Cole-Blooded Tour"? What will they do with all those tee-shirts that was printed?

Priceless :lmao: :lmao:

McPherson, is suppose to arrive on campus Friday. The word is he will not be playing football, he will be playing roundball. If I am not mistaken, his HS senior yearhe was Mr. Football and Mr. Basket Ball.

MH

You know daymn well that ASU scared of TN State. What did LC call it "a revenge game". It appears not that the only game in town for LC maybe watching reruns and playing the song "Yesterday" it seems so far away.

Hefner,
I know that a sorry JSU has still beat you like a drum, but you aint got to be over here co-signing them like this when you know the deal. Besides, the OVary Conference won't allow you to play but a couple of HBCUs per year.

Former FSU QB McPherson could wind up at TSU

Former FSU QB McPherson could wind up at TSU

Former Florida State quarterback Adrian McPherson has been in contact with the coaching staff at Tennessee State about resuming his collegiate football career with the Tigers.

McPherson was dismissed from the football team at Florida State late last season after being implicated for gambling, theft and forgery, then attended classes at Murray State briefly in January before withdrawing from school.

''We have received releases from both institutions,'' TSU Coach James Reese said. ''There has been some interest shown in him attending the university, on both his part and ours.''

Classes do not start at Tennessee State until Monday.

In a negotiated settlement reached on July 2, McPherson agreed to plead no contest to three separate charges, including one for misdemeanor gambling. The pleas put him under probation for 2? years, and he has to serve 90 days over the next year on the Leon County Sheriff's Department work camp picking up roadside trash, some of which he already has done. He also has to perform 50 hours of community service, and he was ordered to make restitution and pay a couple of fines involving stolen and bad checks.

The key for McPherson, however, is the no-contest plea. It means that if he sticks to the terms of his probation, he will walk away without a criminal record.

Before he can play again, he has to be reinstated by the NCAA due to the gambling issue. If found to have gambled under the NCAA's own investigation, he could be suspended for one year; if he is found to have gambled on FSU he could be permanently barred from playing again. The NCAA has never utilized the lifetime ban against an athlete.

The process to regain his eligibility has to be started by an NCAA member institution, not by McPherson.

''He's a young man that deserves a second chance with somebody,'' TSU Athletics Director Teresa Phillips said. ''It may or it may not be us. He is not enrolled in school. We have permission to research his circumstances and his situation.''

As a prep standout at Bradenton (Fla.) Southeast, McPherson was the state's first schoolboy athlete to be named both Mr. Football and Mr. Basketball. In limited time over two seasons at Florida State, he threw for 1,215 yards and 14 touchdowns, and he started four games last fall before his Nov. 25 dismissal.

Attempts to reach Grady Irvin Jr., a St. Petersburg-based attorney who represents McPherson, were unsuccessful.

Walker eager to take charge of potent TSU offense

Walker eager to take charge of potent TSU offense

If any Tennessee State player knows a starting position is earned every day, it's Riley Walker.

The redshirt junior from Chattanooga snatched the starting quarterback role from former Tiger Kenny Irby during preseason workouts last year, lost it to Bryson Rosser before the season opener, bounced back to start the second and third games of the year, sat four games while true freshman Dwayne Buchanan got the nod, then started two of the last four contests.

''I think I learned from the mistakes I made,'' said Walker, who is back atop the QB depth chart as TSU prepares for its Aug. 30 opener against visiting South Carolina State in the fifth annual John Merritt Classic. ''I try to avoid those mental mistakes, and hopefully that will allow me to keep the No. 1 spot.''

Although avoiding miscues is key at his position, Walker doesn't want to play defensively as he takes the lead in what can be a potent offensive attack.

''I just go out and play,'' he said. ''If you go out thinking somebody's breathing down your neck, you tend to make more mistakes. I just go out and play my game.''

While the Tigers coaching staff strongly endorses Walker as the starter, it also knows one reason Walker is able to play without pressure is that there's not a lot of pressure on him.

Rosser is still recovering from a stress fracture in his foot and has not yet been medically released for unrestricted play . Irby transferred to NCAA Division II Lane College following spring practice. Buchanan has had a lackluster camp, and Richard Hartman, while showing potential, has no collegiate playing experience after redshirting last fall.

Also, the possible arrival of former Florida State quarterback Adrian McPherson is not expected to have an impact, as he still has to be reinstated by the NCAA following his dismissal from the FSU team late last season in connection with gambling and theft charges.

''He knows the system the best,'' offensive coordinator Anthony Owens said of Walker, who completed 45-of-89 passes for 899 yards with six touchdowns and five interceptions last season. ''He's able to work what we want to do better than the others.''

Along with the experience, Walker enhanced some of the mental and physical aspects of his game and was sound in Monday's full-contact scrimmage.

''He has the capabilities of winning games, stepping to the forefront and being 'the man','' Coach James Reese said. ''He has all the tools. He won the job in the spring, and he hasn't done anything to this point to lose the job. He's been consistent. His arm strength has improved; he can make all the throws.''

If Walker is to keep proving himself worthy of the starting role, he will have to continue believing it himself.

''If I'm not confident in what I'm doing, they're not going to be confident,'' he said. ''I'm playing with the mindset that I'm going to get it done.

''Last year, I don't think I brought 100% to the game every day. The days I didn't give my all allowed someone else to step in front of me. I have to let it all out on the field.''

Picture Day set: TSU fans are invited to the team's annual Picture Day, which will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Former Tigers players are expected to be on hand for the event as well.

Vinson out: Charles Vinson, who was vying for a starting outside linebacker position, will miss the season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament late last week. Vinson redshirted last fall after signing as a defensive back out of McMain High in New Orleans.

TSU don't need a Great QB to beat a 1-9 high school coach.

When was the last time JSU lost to Prarie View?? :D

Though he will not be allowed to immediately join the football team, former Florida State quarterback Adrian McPherson will enroll in classes at Tennessee State today.

McPherson, who was dismissed from the FSU team on Nov. 25 after being implicated for gambling, theft and forgery, arrived on campus this weekend and was present at the team's picture day activities yesterday.

''I'm not trying to give any interviews; I'm just going to school right now,'' McPherson said yesterday, adding he would be willing to address the media ''after I talk to the NCAA, after I start practicing.''

Following his dismissal at Florida State, McPherson attended classes briefly at Murray State in January. He pled no contest last month to three charges, including one for misdemeanor gambling. He was sentenced to 2? years of probation, 50 hours of community service and 90 days on the Leon County Sheriff's Department work camp that can be served over the next year. Additionally, he was fined and ordered to make restitution for a stolen check.

Due to the gambling issue, McPherson was suspended by the NCAA and has to be reinstated before he is eligible to play at TSU or any other institution. The reinstatement process has to be started by a school, not by McPherson. TSU Athletics Director Teresa Phillips would not comment on the developments with McPherson yesterday.

''He still has to do what he has to do with the NCAA,'' Tigers Coach James Reese said. ''Right now, he's just a regular student.''

Reaction to McPherson's arrival, both with current and former players, was generally supportive.

''He's a good athlete,'' said TSU kicker Joey Hudak, who during his prep days at Coral Gables High in Miami was named to some of the same Florida all-state teams as McPherson. ''Everybody makes mistakes. Everybody deserves a second chance.''

''I think both parties can benefit from this,'' said Shawn Thompson, who lettered from 1995-98. ''Tennessee State has had a lot of negative exposure, but it's not indicative of the program or the university. Colleges are institutions of learning. You learn from good things and bad things. But as long as you're learning, I think it can be a benefit.''

In two seasons at Florida State ? after becoming the first Florida player to be named both Mr. Football and Mr. Basketball during his career at Bradenton Southeast High ? McPherson passed for 1,215 yards and 14 touchdowns. He started four games last season before his dismissal.

''I can't worry about him right now,'' said Riley Walker, atop the Tiger depth chart at quarterback. ''We've got a game on Aug. 30 that I've got to prepare for. There are no bad feelings toward him or anything like that. It's just that my focus right now is on South Carolina State. That's the task at hand for Tennessee State, and that's what I'm getting prepared for

No honor..no integrity.
If I were a QB at TSU, I would really be upset.
This cant be good for the school with all of the
negative publicity they have gotten so far this year.
You would think that Hef wouldnt be a party to this.

GR, they don't have any integrity but I am just glad they have a decent QB. Now the only teams we play with poor QB's are:

AlaState
AAMU
FAMU
NWestern State
A&T
PV
SUcks

I think the rest have decent QB's.

No honor..no integrity.

Dude, what would you know abou honor and integrity?

Your own AD lied to your face about conducting a "nation-wide coaching search", only to hire his 1-9 road dawg who he wanted all along. Do you think that poorly designed farce was an act of honor or integrity?

And, according to Lobopride, your AD also lied to him in 2001 about firing Hughes if he didn't make it to the SCG.

That wasn't honorable.

Adrian McPherson

Former Florida State quarterback Adrian McPherson was admitted to Tennessee State yesterday and is enrolled as a sophomore majoring in business administration.

Still, Athletics Director Teresa Phillips said McPherson, dismissed from the team at FSU late last season following charges of gambling, theft and forgery, would not be joining the football team

''[Athletically] his status has not changed,'' Phillips said yesterday. ''We made a determination that he would not be a member of our [football] program due to NCAA issues that are outstanding. They are still outstanding. Our view of his status has not changed.''

In addition to his legal issues in Florida ? which were cleared up last month ? McPherson still must have his eligibility reinstated by the NCAA due to the gambling charges that were leveled against him prior to his Nov. 25 dismissal at Florida State.

Any effort to regain his eligibility must be made by TSU rather than by McPherson. Phillips would not address the question of whether the school was willing to petition the NCAA on McPherson's behalf.

''I think the NCAA will speak with him and his family prior to his reinstatement,'' Phillips said. ''We believe we'll be privy to whatever information the NCAA gets from him.''

That information, Phillips said, would aid in the school's decision to go forward with the process or not.

McPherson couldn't play for the Tigers this season anyway because he briefly attended Murray State in January. Murray, like TSU, is a Division I-AA school, meaning McPherson would not be considered a ''dropdown.'' Dropdowns are Division I-A players who become eligible immediately upon transferring to a lower level. Players who transfer within the same level have to sit out a year at their new institutions as mandated by the NCAA.

McPherson pled no contest last month to three charges, including one for misdemeanor gambling. He was sentenced to 2? years of probation, 50 hours of community service and 90 days on the Leon County (Fla.) Sheriff's department work camp that can be served over the next year. Additionally, he was fined and ordered to make restitution for a stolen check.

If he meets the requirements of his probation, McPherson's record will be expunged. But even if that's the case, the NCAA will conduct its own review before he is ever reinstated.
