Trust me!! One can not get any closer to 'a' source, than what Same Old G has, as 'the' source. Ryan may have an opportunity to make, what I believe is, a very difficult decision. But, I think it would be in the best interest of all involved to allow the ethical and protocol of the business process to take place. While, we all could imagine he maybe the leading candidate, it is presumptuous of you to suggest that he will be formerly offered the position, not to mention after whatever maybe requested in a negotiation regarding said position, far less that he will formerly take the position.

WOW!!

Can you allow the brother to have an opportunity to even formerly apply for the position? Talking about the cart before the horse, all in the name of journalism and media relations!!

Do'nt be surprised if by this time next week Mr. McGinty is packing his bags heading back to Texas if not already there. And when that does take place I guess everything I've written up to this point will be validated as aposed to being just speculation.

At the end of the day, that just may be case. But does end, justify the means. Allow the process to take it natural course. I am sure that you can have the scoop of the news and release it with a state from all parties involved, regarding any final decision. Also, trust me I fully aware of events transpiring. I maybe just a little closer to know and the people in know than you may think on this particular situation. That again, is why I asking you allow the process to take it natural turn of events, before you state that it is an open and shut case.

Again, has he even formerly applied for the position? Have recommendation letters been written?

Jafus,

The media does what Panther is doing every day of the week regarding speculations, sometimes they are false, but more often than not they are true. Panther4Life didn't just come out the blue with this info and if it is true that's something to be exited about. Getting someone with his type of work ethic...If he knows something, he definitly have the right to bring it to our attention. If it were me though, I would've put it in the private forum...

I do not agree with it when the general media does it, as well. I do not have problem with whether he has information or not. We all welcome that type of information on this board. I was concerned with his declaration ("sources close to Prairie View's athletic department have confirmed a move for him [Ryan] to PV is near."), which I know for a fact is not true.

It is unfair to all involve too make such an unequivocal hazardous statement. If he would have stated, ? Ryan is the leading candidate for the position?, I and other would not have had such angst against his statement. Again, I have said the entire time that it very well may happen, but at this point in time, it is simply not true.
 
Jafus, I cannot give in all honesty a full account of where he is in the application process. What I can say is that he is the guy and the right guy for the job. I'm excited to have someone of his reputation and caliber come to Prairie View. He seems to put alot into his work and that's the type of individual Prairie View needs heading that department. Maybe my enthusiasm about change on "The Hill" got the best of me in my reporting but I will say that to the best of my knowledge what I've reported up to this point has been accurate with the exception of giving him credit for GSU's new ahtletic website. SOG quickly brought me up to speed on that issue. But maybe this is a topic and a conversation that would have been better suited for next week after all has become final. But in all fairness, I got a scoop, I reported what I had learned to the best of my knowledge and I did it not to stir up a mess or more speculation but only to further enlighten TSPN'ers on some of the conferences latest news. It's offeseason so as you can image there's not too much to talk about other than staff changes, team updates, and 2007 outlooks.

In my opening post I concluded by stating that he was the front runner for the position. Is that not the same as saying "leading candidate"?

You missed the entire point of our debate. It did not have anything to do with whether you were right. Again, I made the state does the end justify the means. The point was that you were stating that the decision has been made. I know for a fact, that one party involved in the decision making process has not made an ultimate decision one way or the other, as of yet. Furthermore, it has already been proven that your initial post was not entirely valid nor accurate and fact remains if does happen then I wholeheartedly did my job.
