Mayor Mitch Landrieu Trying to Stop Black Males from Killing One Another

He just stated on the CBS news "that Black Men are killing Black Men in New Orleans and is the KKK killed 200 black men, or 200 white kids were killed on the streets of America there would be hell to pay, but since it's black on black crime no one gives a damn."

The City of New Orleans' police department is being taken over by the Department of Justice and being restructured.

the word again I believe should end your last sentence. Didn't the same thing happen in the 90's after all those cats got caught slinging

I knew bigmanofds would be here soon as the name Mitch Landrieu was types.

Yeap could not resist. It was like trying to eat just one potato chip.  However my position has “soften” towards 3M (Mary, Mitch, and Moon). Being an Independent and seeing how Jindal basically ran unopposed in the last governor’s election, I truly see the concept of “Balance of Power.” To take an analogy from Bluedog…a weak Landrieu in Louisiana equates to the pussification of the Democratic Party. :lol

Damn you guys having some valid fugging points!....I think the democrats in Louisiana have really lost it.

Mary Landrieu is one of the most conservative democrats in the senate. That's the same nut that loss the democratic gubernatorial primary to Cleo Fields and would not endorse him against a Republican candidate Foster (not that he would have won in a red state but the very idea).
She is not too far from being a Republican. Mitch appears to be a little more liberal but his constituency is more liberal too so it is hard to say if he wouldn't sell out if afforded the opportunity.

The sad part about this, Mary came to Cleo just before the Louisiana Democratic Primaries and made an agreement with Cleo that she would back him in the gubernatorial election if he wins and vice-versa.

Sister Mary is the reason why Louisiana Democrats are the way they are. Her tail definitely knows how to ride that fence. From what I hear, she and Mitch definitely don't see eye to eye.

Thanks. It's respectable to keep the pictures but he needs to try a little harder.

That may be a real good idea--I remember when I went to the classic in '94 and they stated on the news that night after the battle of the bands that New Orleans was 6 murders away from being the murder capital of the world and the following mourning it became the murder capital of the world and has been there every since and what is so bad about it is the fact that the police or law enforcement have been a major problem/reason why it is so bad. This is about the 2nd or 3rd time they have had to do this to the police department because it is so chaotic in N.O. I just hope it works out for them because this will cause a lot for this country that we definitely don't need!

I can honestly say that my hometown does have cops that can be considered dirty cops. While this is true I can also say that their is even a larger number of knuckleheads that live in the city and believe that crime is the answer. When you have parents that condone crime but can't even get involved in their kids education we have a problem. And the said thing is that they don't even care about getting help, they are only concerned about when is the next second line or concert coming to town.

I am well aware of the mind set. It is deeply ingrained in many New Orleanians and Louisianians whether their formally educated or not. I know quite a few of high profile people that are in or have been in influential power position in NOLA that have straight up gangster mentalities with a criminal mind sets. Still one is more apt to get out of that mind frame through education. I liked Obama's address yesterday to N.O. by way of the Urban League (saw it on MSNBC).
