Well what's an alternative for black areas that actually works? It's kinda like I pointed out in that thread about violent cities... ALL of them are black and if you live in one you're forced to just live with it. I moved to Douglasville because inside of the city you can't do much of shit without some gun shit happening. It doesn't matter what it is.. a baby shower, a car show, the mall parking lot.
Black folks are even more tired of the bullshit than white folks are because WE have to live around it. Kinda like how it is riding Marta. When I first moved out here, I parked my car at Hamilton Homes and rode it to the station across the street from our office. The way folks acted on that train between Hamilton Homes and 5 points was just wild. And it was 8 in the damn morning. Get back to the station, 8 cars had been broken into.
Not only do we accept the bullshit that happens around us, but many of us praise it. There's a whole genre of music called drill rap where dudes literally go kill people and make songs about it dissing the people that they killed. And it's mainstream music. Billboard rap chart music. These young kids love that shit. And in the hood those rappers are the Biggie's and Jay Z's.
