Hey there is a scripture out there that contains the words "the bed of marriage shall not be defiled." Have you heard it? If so, can you recall where it is found in the Bible. Also, explain YOUR interpretation of it?


I took it to mean that what goes on between a man and his wife in their bedroom will not defile (tarnish) it. As long as it is between only him and his wife. :heart:

Briefly:

Marriage (the bond "welding" must be) honorable among all-people "Christians and Non-Christians" the (marriage) bed (must be) unstained, for God will judge fornicators and adulterers.

Marriage (the agreement / union binding a man and a woman together as husband and wife "Genesis") must be [imperative] honorable (esteemed of value, held in honor, deemed of worthy price, prized) in or among all people?

and the marriage bed must be unstained (the place of lying down, referring to the sexual activity of those who are married, should not be tainted, not tinged, without being colored with something else).

fornicators (people who carry out wrongful sexual activity/relations) and

adulterers (married-people who have sexual relations with someone other-than his/her spouse).

guess i was way off judging by these responses. i always thought it meant it shouldn't be "defiled" by doing the deed in it w/another woman or man whichever the case may be. :read:
 
So in a nutshell...aside from fornicating and adulterating (Forgive that :D) ...anything goes?

Only the spouses can define what is too far. Don't all of you have what we call "escape words"? :smug2:

'cause its in the Bible. :D Plus it was discussed at a marriage retreat this weekend. My co-worker was telling me about it. So I wanted to bring the topic here and thought it would get interesting if we weren't afraid to discuss it. :)

like docmump, I just wanna testify that sex in marriage is all Good.., its just show nuff good, only God can put the sugar in kool-aid, the sweetness in honey and umm in a God-ly intimate and blessed marriage.....,

That scripture is referring to fornication and adultery!

Sex is beautiful in God's eye. You defile the bed when you don't follow His ordinance.
