Mark Cuban takes swing at buying Cubs

So you think Mark Cuban could pay more than George Steinbrenner???

Yep. Cuban has longer money than Steinbrenner believe it or not. Cuban has his hand in Hollywood now. Heck the Maloof Brothers who own the Kings may have more than George.

Now on the flip side......if Steinbrenner sold the Yankees then he would be really filthy. Not to mention his wife also has her own big money as well. One of the reason Ohio State has so much money. Steinbrenner building fund send help.

It's possible. Both A-Rod and Griffey played for Uncle Lou in Seattle, and they both said they would love to play for Lou again. When A-Rod was struggling last season A-Rod sought help from Lou and no one else to help him with his swing and clear his mind too. So I would not rule it out.

What do that have to do with them being in Chicago. There is no way either one of them will be in Chicago.

Griffey has a no-trade clause. A few weeks ago he said he would waive the clause to play for the Cubs in part because Lou is the manager. A-Rod and Lou are tight. Almost like father and son tight. He said he would love to play for Lou no matter what team he manages.

The only way the Cubs would get Griffey is via trade. The Cubs don't want to sign an aging outfielder to a long-term deal. The Cubs could get A-Rod, but not a no $30 million. It's still possible.

Yeah man tellem', the Mariner's of the Midwest.

it's funny to me when fellow Cub fans say don't get Griffey because he is injury-prone, but yet they have no problem with us getting Cliff Floyd??? C'mon! At least Griffey is producing this year.

I think Cubs fans would love to have Griffey patrol the outfield for the Cubs. However, the Cubs were able to get Cliff Floyd on the cheap. If you get Griffey, it will cost you Carlos Marmol, Sean Marshall or a Felix Pie in a deal. Or cost you 12-13 million a year for someone who is injury-prone. That's why the Reds moved him from center to right. I would Love Junior on the Cubs, but you have to think about what it will cost you.

Comparatively speaking, the Mavs were a lot worse off when Cuban bought them than the Cubs are now. So I say?

GO MARK!!!

I say this as a Braves' fan.

Note. Chicago is a big media market.

I feel what u are saying, but if I were Hendry and got the team that he has now, I wouldn't let Sean Marshall or Pie stop me from going after Griffey. I mean when was the last time we won the World Series??? It's time to stop playing it safe and take some chances. A strong left-handed bat would be just what the doctor ordered for the team. They have enough young pitching to take Marshall's place. Prior could take his spot if he comes back healthy. Angel Guzman. Even Wood is expected back some time this year.
