Marion out for season with foot injury

MIAMI (AP) - Miami Heat forward Shawn Marion will miss the final seven games of the season because of a left foot injury.

Marion has been sidelined with back spasms that forced him to sit out 11 of the past 12 games. He will undergo treatment and will not be able to participate in basketball activity for about 30 days.

Marion appeared in 16 games for Miami after being acquired in early February as part of the trade that sent Shaquille O'Neal to the Phoenix Suns.

Marion can choose to become a free agent after the season.

Nah, I think he will end up somewhere else. Remember the Suns got rid of him to keep from paying him that big money he wants. They decided to pay Stoudamire instead which is smart. Look for teams like Golden State, Sacramento, or even San Antonio to go after Marion. I think he is from the West Coast anyway. Now do not be shocked if Pat Riley tries to keep him. The Heat aint in as bad shape as we might think. They will get a high lottery pick, they have D. Wade and will have plenty of money to go after any free agents they need. Since Riles gutted the team, the owner is only paying Wade who still has a couple of years left on his current contract.
