Marc Cuban's Comments

I wonder how many offense things you have said in your home that if your employer heard would get you fired...I'm with Mark the NBA should not be able to force Sterling to sale is team...quit running day to day operations/managing ect. yes!

Maybe the NBA shouldn't force him to sale, but for all the racist and discriminatory practices this nut has done in the pass, he should lose his team and his $2 billion dollars worth of wealth. I don't see how any person of color can support a ruthless racist slumlord.

His comments were stupid.

But Cuban pretty much said how he would vote when the whole Sterling situation came out. He said something along the lines of...that basically while he felt Sterling's comments were racist and wrong, it's a slippery slope to start voting owners out because of something they said in their home. I disagree with that comment as well.

You are right with everything you said.

I think what Cuban and Stephen A. Smith are failing to see is that, as I said before, the comments were stereotypical in nature and just bad timing because of the Trayvon Martin situation still being fresh in our minds.

Plus the NBA is just using the tape as an excuse to vote him out because of the discrimination lawsuits that Stern let him slide with that happen to affect the same people he disrespected in the tape as well as those that made him hundreds of millions on the court.

I agree with part of that. If this was a startup biz that he created then yes you can't oust him for a comment. The Clippers are a FRANCHISE. A part of a brand. If you risk the integrity of that brand you can be forced to sell. Now I believe that the Commish should have admitted that his past actions were taken into account as well. That would have made the case stronger IMO.

Heard the comments on Rickey Smiley this morning. I agree. Jeff Johnson said it best, folks are too damn sensitive and we are all living in glass houses. Instead of having rocks we need windex.

Truth!

Hell, many of US DO THE SAME DAMN THING! We just don't own multi-million dollar companies and if I said I didn't like a certain sect of people, I should have to deal with the consequences of saying that, but my opportunity for a business, that I worked for, has nothing to do with that.

Sidenote: Sterling should have to deal with blacks boycotting his team, players not wanting to play there, coaches not wanting to come, but taking HIS business, that he purchased fair and square, is WRONG to me.

How would any of you react if you saw someone wearing a turban? Seriously. I want to read your responses lol

I don't think he should be forced to sell his team over those comments alone. IF they are going to make the case based on everything, I may reconsider but I don't like the idea that someone can basically come in and take something someone legally purchased over private views.

Yep... it is a franchise that represents a larger entity.

Interesting..... guess I'm the odd man out on this one because I didn't see as him not voting him out but not on that alone, which isn't the case if you take time to read the grievances the NBA file against him.

Just another fashion statement to me. From all the photos I've seen, none of the 9/11 hijackers were wearing a turban nor did Timothy McVeigh.

If I see a Jehovah's witness carrying a Watch Tower pamphlet on my side of the street, I'll move to the other side of the street.

It doesn't bother me. I was at an event Tuesday and there was a guy wearing a turban....it did not bother me in the least.

I am not as arab-phobic or Islama-phobic as a lot of people. Hell more black folk have been killed by "christians" in this country than have been killed by Islamists.

This is about protecting the image/brand of the NBA. They could care less what Sterling said. Just like when they instituted a dress code for the players a few years ago which put an end to "urban wear" by players at NBA sanctioned events. It was about image and protecting the brand. They publicize the NBA as being fan/family friendly then you have this owner spouting all kind of vile statements AND he has a history.....not gonna work in the NBA.

Remember when Rush Limbaugh wanted to purchase an NFL team? All those bigoted vile tea party-like statements and rhetoric came back to bite him in the butt and he was not allowed to purchase a team.

It is about image.

Shoot I come in contact with Arab folks around here as I do white people because they're second in convenience store ownership here behind white people :smh:

Plus, turbans are worn by Sikhs (seeks) and they are Indian....not Arab. Muslims wear what is called a Kufi.

Cuban has a history of putting his foot in his mouth, this is just another instance. He used terrible examples. Hell the sell of hoodies has to be at an all-time low.

Yep look what they are doing in the WNBA, they decided to stop looking the other way pretending that the family hadn't stop coming and boldly came out of the closet in support of their main audience to get that Almighty $$$..Yep go the way of the wind at all cost!
