Man who fought Playmate for inheritance dies

DALLAS, Texas (AP) -- E. Pierce Marshall, who feuded for years with former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith over his father's oil fortune, has died, his spokesman said Friday. He was 67.

Marshall died Tuesday evening in the Dallas area from a brief but aggressive infection, the family said in a written statement released through spokesman David Margulies. He declined to provide additional details.

Smith married Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II in 1994, when she was 26 and he was 89. He died the following year.

Since then, E. Pierce Marshall had been locked in a legal battle over her entitlement to the estate.

I dont know if it will clear or not because I am sure there is other relatives that wont more of the cut now. They say GOD dont like ugly.

The only person that was on her side from this man's family was the son that the FATHER cut off decades ago.

Nobody gonna tell me this woman diserves half of $800 million dollars that she had nothing to do with making.

Well maybe she dont Stag but do the family deserves it? If it was truly the husband money shouldnt he give it to who he wants. Would it be a problem if it was left to the state? And sure they wouldnt have deserve it either. I am not mad at her at all.

His son had "power of Attorney" over his father's business. The other family members worked the business all their lives in the background.

No................But this crap about a person being entitled to "Half" of something that was there before they entered the picture is crap.

Nobody can justify her getting $400 million....................Being there from the beginning is one thing. Screwing the person at the end of their lives is totally different.

She need to take what she got during this farce and step.
 
I agree she doesn't deserve half of 800 million. But she deserves something. Usually in Texas from what I saw living there, you had to be married to the person about 10 years or more to get half at least through divorce proceedings. Not saying that is way it is when someone dies.But I just remember hearing that all the time I lived there. So say she was married to ole Boy for 1 year. Then maybe a 1 tenth of 800 million is about 80 million. So if I was the family I would give her 100 million and send her on her way. She is going to get something. The Supreme Court opened that door for her with their ruling overturning the lower court in the case. If I am her I would gladly take 80-100 million and bounce. Her lawyer should realize more than likely she aint getting half. She didn't put in enough time for that. But we must remember this. If the old man was deemed to be in sound mind when he wrote the will then a great attorney can get that money for her.

We'll see how it works out. I am actually pulling for the old former triple D's.:lol:

He is trying stag. I feel your pain on this issue unless in most cases a prenuptial agreement these women or men are going to get paid. That is the bottom line. I guarantee you she will get at least $100 mill. Ask Eddie Murphy, Piddy, and Russell Simmons.

Shid, go tell a couple of partners of mine that one. Judge in Ft. Bend county said half on this dude I played ball with. He was married 11 years. His attorney was like you should have divorced her earlier like 5 years earlier. Not to mention the 1500 dollar child support he kicks out for 1 child. Then we had this old cat at NASA-JSC who wouldn't retire because he didn't want his ex wife to get half of his pension. Dude said to us, he'll die first. lol. But again that is divorce.

This inheritance/will stuff is a different animal. No way she gets half of the money left but even though she was a gold digger she is going to get something and it will be more than a couple of million. Old boy should have had his Daddy put everything in his name before he married Anna. Or do like Sam Walton did. He divided up all his isht before he died and told them who he wanted to run Wal-Mart.

You know I found out in some states Pre-nup and worth spit. You know once you change a person lifestyle you going to have to keep up a certain way. My mother got a cousin in Seattle that is refusing to divorce his wife. They stay in different parts of the house and he said he is not going nowhere. He said he is not going to give his wife the satisfaction of raking him over the coals. He have one child a son that is I think is 18 trying to get him thru college. Said if he happens to divorce her she cant get childsupport. :lol: He said this woman can get half of his pension if he leaves. Is doing everything legal he can to stop from divorcing her.

I concur. Hell, he wanted a pinup girl even though he probably couldn't get it up and he was willing to pay for it. Nobody is worth 800 million and doesn't have the mind/sense to know what a prenup is. So if he chose not to give her one, he had his reasons. In most states , wives always have rights with no prenup. Doesn't matter if you leave it all to the children, the wife has rights that cannot be dismissed unless there is a prenup in most cases. They will divide it up equally, but Ms. Nicole will get her share, no doubt. If you don't want to share, be alone.
