It also should be noted that Kaufman county is notoriously racist as well. The murderer is a resident of dallas county and the crime was committed in dallas county.

He was charged with 3rd degree murder and manslaughter. Texas doesn't have 3rd degree murder. The max penalty is 25 years for his charge. 20 for hers. Very similar.
She only turned herself in there. Dallas county set the charge and bond.

Didn't I say manslaughter. Murder is harder for a prosecutor to prove and in this case proving intent would be difficult. This was the mistake prosecutors made with George Zimmerman.
