Magic Johnson and wife Cookie are proud parents. The couple's 20-year-old son Earvin Johnson III -- aka EJ -- quietly came out as gay on Monday night in Los Angeles, chatting with TMZ as he hit Sunset Boulevard holding hands with another young man identified as his boyfriend.

This doesn't surprise me. Raising rich kids in Los Angeles is almost a guarantee that they would be gay. If my ex-wife and I had any children while we lived in Los Angeles, I believe I would ask my parents if our kids could live with them to attend grade school in Louisiana. Rich or poor, a Black male child in Los Angeles doesn't have too many good options.

Magic Johnson's son just didn't wake up one morning and decide he was gay, with genes that strong, EJ was born that way, someone in Magic's or Cookie's family passed those genes on to EJ at conception.

Well Magic made the HIV announcement about twenty years ago, so this must be the child his wife was pregnant with around the time. Therefore, I conclude that this young man's homosexuality is directly correlated to the fact that he never had the opportunity to walk in on his parents having sex.

Folks forget Magic is from Lansing Michigan. Not big city Detroit. Basically a country Michigan kid who at 19-20 was the starting PG for the World Champion Lakers. Being exposed to L.A. in 1979-80 as a rookie for the Lakers had to be interesting to say the least. No telling what was happening in that circle.

I see reading is definitely not your forte' because were did I type that EVERY man in L.A. is prone to be gay or bi? But for whatever your reason is, you missed my whole point. Basically, a Black male child growing up in Los Angeles has a greater chance of being influenced by someone in the gay community or someone in a gang, which is why my fraternity chapter started an Annual Youth Leadership Conference and Mentorship Program that mainly targets young Black men in the Los Angeles Area between the ages of 8 to 18 years old. My DP Brother Ricky L. Lewis is the program founder.
