I have heard that due to the terrorist attacks of September 11th, no one will be allowed to park within 100 feet of Legion Field. If someone can confirm that this is true or not, please post it here.

If this is true, then this wipes out a WHOLE LOT of parking! The parking situation at Legion Field is already an adventure. With the implementaion of a 100-foot rule, it will be even more interesting.

I would strongly advise that everyone head to the stadium NO LATER THAN two hours before game time. Traffic was a mess last year, and we didn't even have the extra precautions that are being taken this year.

Actually if I am not mistaken it is 200 feet. They will have some areas roped off I believe and there is suppose to be security searches at every gate. The teams will have to go thru security measures at their respective hotels before boarding the buses to the stadium. No coolers or anything like that are suppose to be admitted into the stadium.

I apologize for not puttin this info out earlier since I am here in town, I dropped the ball on this one. But these have been the procedures for all events at Legion Field since Sept 11, so this is one time that I can say that 'we' are not being singled out in doing this.

Peeps coming to the stadium, please get there early, all the radio stations are having their own tailgate parties, in addition to the traveling BET Soundstage featuring Ricky Smiley and Kym Whitley from BET and Lil Jon performing - all of my kids at the schools I work with here in town want to be there for that - even if they dont get in the game cause this is a free event. My point is it will be a bit crowded and their will be delays.

majik,

What about the vendors? Will they be allowed to set up in their usual spot, right accross the street from the main entrance on Graymont? These guys are usually only about fifty feet or so from the stadium.

I think I remembered seeing vendors set up across the street during one of UAB games, but I can say for certain since there were only 4 people at the game :D :emlaugh:

If you think they are worried about a bunch of BLACK FOLK that did not want BUSH in office you have to be crazy... If there were a time to worry, it would be the IRON BOWL Auburn and ALABAMA!!!!
