What I respect about her donations is that she's donating significant donations to PUBLIC institutions and not just the usual 3-4 private ones

I would say "I wish she would donate to Valley" but I know she does her due diligence as far as researching the finances of a school so I know she sees all the 🚩🚩🚩 at Valley

I wouldn't trust Briggs with $40 let alone $40 million to give to the band and his buddies

Alabama State University Receives $38 Million Donation from MacKenzie Scott

Oct. 27, 2025 — Alabama State University has announced a historic milestone: the largest single donation in the institution’s 158-year history. The $38 million gift, from renowned philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, represents a monumental investment in the University’s future and a powerful endorsement of its mission, leadership, and vision for innovation. The unrestricted gift allows ASU the freedom to invest strategically in mission-critical areas — bolstering the University’s endowment, enhancing student success initiatives, expanding its research and technology infrastructure, and deepening ASU’s engagement within the Montgomery community and beyond.

“We are deeply grateful to MacKenzie Scott for her unprecedented generosity in supporting the vision of Alabama State University. The message here is clear: the work being done at this University is being held in high regard,” said Alabama State University President, Dr. Quinton T. Ross, Jr. “This investment allows us to continue to make a significant impact as an institution of higher learning now and for generations to come. This is a history-making moment at the place where history is made.”

You are correct, as based on this interview with the UMES president, Ms. Scott is just not handing out money blindly. She has a whole team that investigate the schools before she is decide to give a school money. Based on the stuff you have said on this forum is more than enough to make Ms. Scott run away from Valley.

Norfolk State receives record-breaking $50M donation from MacKenzie Scott

NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk State University announced a record-breaking $50 million donation they received from writer and philanthropist MacKenzie Scott on their social media Thursday.

The historically Black university said this is "the largest gift in its 90-year history."

"The 2025 gift will be invested to support student scholarships, faculty research and service, athletics and strategic initiatives of the institution," the social media post reads.

This is Scott's second multi-million dollar donation to Norfolk State. Back in 2020, she donated $40 million to the university to support "access, student achievement and academic excellence."

NSU’s social media post says that this additional donation demonstrates they made good use of the previous funding.
