No they wouldn't. Them white mofos would still pack their stadiums to see WHITE boys play other WHITE boys. They would never play us with all our black athletes. It would go back to the time when the white schools had nothing but white players. Remember they will not care about the NFL and what they do. The NFL would live at our schools to draft our kids. But them PWCs would still have the Nick Saban's of the world coaching the BEST WHITE KIDS. That's what these mofos secretly want. The only reason they got our players is because other PWCs started using our players which made the playing field uneven. Basically the West Coast and the Big Ten schools plus Notre Dame used to beat the down South white schools to submission with their lily white teams. The only reason you will not ever see this happen is because kids out here in Cali don't feel suppressed by these PWCs. Hell these PWCs so damn liberal they wouldn't even let Ann Coulter speak at Cal. LOL.
And if yall think the networks are going to pay big money over them PWCs to showcase all black teams, then I got some swamp land to sell you. THey would still show Alabama vs LSU with their white teams. Ohio State and Michigan will still go on. They would still call our brand of football inferior because. They would somehow stop rating these black athletes 5 stars and start ranking more white boys. What yall don't see is they really want to send it back to the 50s. If you asked every redneck LSU or Bama fan would they care if all the blacks left their school to play at HBCUs. They would rejoice as long as their opponents had the same thing happen to them.

if NFL told ESPN and other networks there are first round caliber draft picks in the MEAC and SWAC up and down the roster they would change coverage patterns overnight. May not be on the level of the SEC but you have a bigger bargaining chip. Its all about football now anyway.

That's wrong. I am not typing this history of the D-1 split, Vince Dooley moves because of shared coverage in the 70's; ABC, anti-trust laws etc....tbf knows what he is talking about. (of course we never had equal coverage).
Yep SU vs FAMU on ABC in Tiger Stadium in 78 is a example of the shared coverage.

If there was a game of interest featuring a hbcu draft pick mainstream America HAD to see we got the national coverage on an abc at times..
Steve McNair is one example of how Alcorn basically had ESPN2 at their disposal cause he was an enigma that people had to see to believe.
You drop the FAB 5 coming out of HS with the hype going to a HBCU. 99.9% game 1 is televised by some major outlet.

I was in Tiger Stadium at that game. I remember back then they would show the regional coverage map for the weekend because all games were not covered sometimes nationally like today on the Big 3 networks and those SEC schools would be highly PO when their was bcf game on the map...lol

I remember when Paul 'Bear' Bryant got some players out of New Orleans.
Some fans may want deep down to have all-White teams play each other. They may pack their stadiums but know they need to have the best Black athletes to win national titles. Let the best athletes go elsewhere and see if networks will offer $2.25-2.5 billion dollar contracts. I will paraphrase what the late Atlanta radio host Chico Renfro, who did some FAMU games, said when Prop 48 was passed. Those schools will want the best athletes and so will the coaches.
It was not an accident that much of college sports supported Civil Rights or the "integration" of sports.

I was at that game too. That year FAMU won the national title on national TV, ABC. During that year Georgia and Oklahoma or OK State filed suit on the TV contracts.

I agree with most, almost all what you say J.R. The one part I SLIGHTLY disagree with is the bold part. I think definitely a LOT of them wouldn't care but a LOT of them still want "us" to suit up because they know what we bring to their team. But for the most part, yeah I agree with you.

I see your point.........question though........how many black players from HBCU's go pro? And you're saying that the guys who don't go pro from the PWC's are looking to a HBCU alum to help them get a job when they don't make it pro?

A lot of black players don't go pro but playing for an HBCU, they are connected with advisers/old alums/family/the community, ppl that look like them that would somewhat look out for them when it's time for them to go out there in the work field, the ones at these PWI that don't go pro, who is looking out for them? Do you think the fans that cheer for them on Saturday nights after offering them 70,000 salary positions when they walk across the stage (if some even walk) after they finish playing ball for that PWI?
What I meant by them coming back to get help from a HBCU alum, most of these players go to these schools on scholarships or whatnot and after their time is up, I'll see them out and about, and they'll be like "man what you doing, yadda, yadda, yadda, can you get me on somewhere, or do you know any place that's looking for x,y, and z. Me, I came from SU and I be like dayum, nobody at LSU can't get you on? You went there and played ball, or hell you went there period, the name LSU on your resume should land you somewhere.

I understand your point and agree that there are PWI alums that will NOT look out for the black athlete once they're done playing sports at their school. But there are plenty that do.Everybody isn't bad. I say that because I know of several personally including a couple of relatives that went on and got HIGH paying jobs through their connections at "other" colleges. It goes both ways. Another thing is this.......you have to also help yourself.........you can't be at these schools, black or white schools, just playing ball and majoring in basket weaving or not going to class and gettin' your grades and expect a job once you get done playing ball and don't go pro. You gotta also set your path the right way no matter what school you're at.
But yeah, you will run across some that will come back to "us" to get help and some that don't. I'm just saying don't label them all the same way in the same boat. But I do understand your point and agree to a point also.

I am so thankful that at the age of 17 I had an astute awareness that made me make the right choices, and not the "white" choices when the invitation to exploit my physicality and academic probability were presented. Instead of saying "yes" to being physically/academically exploited, I said "no" to all offers 
. I did my part. Even in the end by forcing PV to mail my diploma (paid them a fee not to participate) as I protested their graduation, I did my part.

Don't know about that, but let's not act like these guys who are at PWIs are just abandoned after they're done playing like so many want to believe. Being around a major D1 program, I can tell you they aren't.
