Lookey, lookey....Here comes Cookie Cole





Couple of comments.

First, as with any SENSITIVE ASU thread, I must start by saying, yeah, I'm a Tuskegee grad, but I generally look at these issues from a state/economic development issue (,,, cept come Turkey Day).

I think Coles makes excellent points, and I think the guy is showing some frustration with the situation. I particularly think he makes points in the article in the MA today about having leadership in place to guide the program.

This guy raises some outstanding issues in this article. New stadiums, home & home series(although I know "we", HBCUs, are still into the classic-in-a-big-city-were-we-can-go-party mode,, and fill the stadium not necessarily with hardcore fans, but bodies from the metro and the usual throng of fans), that's new thinking relatively speaking. You can't tell me it wouldn't be good for not only ASU, but Montgomery in general to have a "Lewis Crews" stadium and bring big games to Montgomery. Generally Coles has lots of good ideas if you ask me.

Basically though, on subjects like this esp Cole's original goal, I think there is a general division among ASUers. I was generally in agreement with the vision of Watkins and Coles on the future of ASU. That always spawns massive Div I-A vs Div I-AA debate, but still,,, I think Cole is right on the money.

I also think it BEHOOVES ASU, or somebody at ASU, to listen to this guy. You have a coach that welcomes challenges, wants to take on new goals. It seems that there are people above him that are in the way. ASU was "successful" in running Donald Watkins off, you may be successful in getting rid of Cole. Maybe that's what yall want,,, I don't know your business,, just looking in from the outside.

And please,,,, none of this, "juss mind you own Tuskegee business" replies. Rational discoarse please. :lecture:

Here's a bone for yall. Note "the shed" (an institution at Tuskegee,, i don't care what yall say, or what smack yall run on dat mug. we need to get rid of dat mug,, but it, LIKE THIS MINDSET OF HBCUs THAT DIV I-AA is the "ultimate", is a grand tradition and part of the fabric of games in Cleve Abbott/Alumni Stadium.) on the left(east) side.

No lights yet, but we are replacing some sprinklers and such.
