Black students aren't going to Mississippi State because JSU sports suck. JSU was consistently "winning" in football in the 80's and 90's, yet MSU consistently had more Black students than Valley and Alcorn and rivaled JSU in the number of Black students. MSU and OM aggressively pursue the best and brightest Black students in Mississippi. They are always going to get their share of those students. They will willingly let many of the average and low performing students go to JSU. That's not their market.

I don't think it's realistic to say that the Black students at MSU will start to go to JSU if JSU wins SWAC football games. That hasn't been true in the past 30+ years. I can assure you that very few of MSU students - white, Black or other - give a damn about SWAC sports. The affect SWAC sports has on the MSU Black student enrollment is negligible at best.

I do not know about this one. It may just be me. I no alot of Ole Miss and MS State White & Black Alum who follows JSU football because we are in the State. They glad to see we are winning and even keeps up with our schedule.

Following is one thing, but changing their minds to cause them to go to JSU is something else entirely.

Sure, they could read that JSU won this week ... lost this week. Whatever. Would still be attending MSU though.

I agree Show. They are happy now because Ole Piss is winning too. Now if they are not. Then that might be a different story.
