Life is Interesting

I learned about two years ago when I was helping a guy with his appeal. You see when "some" men and I emphasize "some" are locked that is a situation that by the definition you posted above is of great peril. Unless you have been locked up you really cannot understand what happens during the days and nights...or when you can only visit your family for 4 hours before someone tells time is up...or the 15 minute phone conversations....or receiving a letter and waiting weeks....maybe months before getting a response....then having the time to "think" about your crime and what you can do when you get out to not return....

Many men never face "the precipice of life" and therefore feed the prison. Therefore that word amongst a number of other words helps to maintain my constant reminder of that dreadful place that many young feel is a badge of honor to go to.....

Furthermore if you connect "Peril" and understand the mental and physical dangers of prison....you wouldn't have to ask whether or not the word was used correctly....but glad that it is registered and engrained in my brain to be a better man because of it.

Feel me...

Fugg no!! So did you use the word right or not?!?!

You acting like Dacon with all this 'plainin!

Everything that takes place in the outside world takes place in prison. You have the gangs. The white supremacist. The gay folks. Yet out of all that the worst thing you could be is a thief. The reason is guys in prison are willing to help each other because some are better off than others. I was part of a group of guys who promoted education and not returning to prison.

My day consisted of waking up at 4 am to eat breakfast. After breakfast I would go back to sleep and wake up at 6 am. Do my devotion. Then at 6:45 am report to my job which was being the Clerk at the school. I went to lunch at 10:45 am and went back to work until 3:45 pm. I would eat again then go to the gym and work out. I would lift for about 30 minutes then walk the track for another 15. Come back in take a shower. I had a room which was like a dorm room which held 6 guys and two bathrooms in each room. In the room was a guy serving 35 years before he went to the board, I had to do 3, another guy doing 17, another 20, another 15, and another doing life without. At 6 pm they did mail call. Afterwards I read. I think I read something like 200+ books on all subjects.

I read the Bible (twice), the Quran, Book of Morman, and really developed a true understanding of the Bible and why it works for me. I have over 30 journals. At 10:30 pm lights were out but each room had a dim light that stayed on so I would read more. That was Monday-Thursday....

Friday - Sunday
I would sleep until 10 am because school was not held on Friday. I would eat lunch and then we would have yard call. Dinner again at 3 ish....then work out. Movies show at 6:30 p.m. We saw all the new releases through inmate council. This was an organization run by inmates. We voted for which movies were shown. Movies were shown from 6:30 pm on Friday to 10:30 pm on Sunday. We also hard 4 TVs...flatscreens....2 were sports TVS and 2 were movie TVS. We would schedule sporting events by voting. I never missed the Bayou Classic because the brothers were not having it. I learned how to understand car racing and bull riding. Also on Saturdays was visitation. You can go in to the rec room and hang out with your family. You were only behind a glass during non contact visit. On visitation inmate council made burgers, bar-b-que, fried catfish etc....also on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays we could order these dinners.

The key to prison was having a group of guys you were cool with. I actually was locked up with 4 of my cousins from Arkansas and even some guys from Louisiana. Also, the important part to surviving was minding your own business. Don't gamble, don't use drugs, and stay away from the homosexuals (I have seen two guys fight over a gay dude). The other issue is to create a routine...

My hardest months in prison was during the months of June through August....no football and no basketball.....

Also since I was in Pine Bluff, Arkansas all I heard was Razorbacks and Golden Lions. Also I purchased me a radio and I could pick up games in Grambling if the weather was perfect and I sat in a specific place in the building. I loved UAPBs jazz station but Little rock always had some hood music so I jammed UAPB.

Man, I did 3 hours in a holding cell and I was ready to dip.

You and GR's battles were the reason I signed up for TSPN dang near.

What were you in for?

I was convicted of "Knowingly Exposing Another to HIV." I received 12 years and served 3 then released. My victim is not HIV positive but knew of my status prior to sex. Yet, the law in Arkansas states that I have to inform them prior to intimacy. Also, according to Arkansas' law fluids do not have to exchange.

Ark.Code Ann. 5-14-123

I was convicted under Section C.

so you were convicted of not telling her about the HIV BEFORE intimacy (I take it you mean kissing)? She knew before sex....fugged... then filed a lawsuit? I would beat her ass when I got out. Are you on papers for the other 9 years?

Welcome Back DSN, glad to know everything is alright with you. I just have one request....twice you posted Everything a Brother should have in his wardrobe collection. That was good info. The problem was, the forum you posted that info in has since been deleted or at least the thread. You posted the info again on small talk but I can't find it. Can you post it again? Thanks in advance....

You got it. Yet, the information that was produced on paper said one thing. The info. that was posted on the SWACPage said another and the interview said a third story. Yet, the ending effect that was the same was that I did not tell her prior to intimacy. On paper for 9 years...

You may say you would beat someone's behind but really is it worth to be away from your family.

Wow, bro. That's a really remarkable story there. I wish you best, bro.

WOW. Just wow. I don't think criminal infraction can touch or top that (besides murder or irreparable injury). That had to be a very sobering event for and the other person involved. I wish you the best in all your future endeavors and the rest of your living and addressing this issue is a MUCH.

Which means you wouldn't have learned your lesson and you would've ended right back up where you were before you got out.

I'm still confused...

So was she saying you NEVER told her you were HIV positive? LIke at all throughout the relationship.

From reading your posts it seems you are saying you told her, at some point throughout the relationship, that you were HIV positive. Even after that she chose to still have sex with you. That you were convicted not on the fact that y'all had sexual intercourse (and she knew) but b/c from the moment you became intimate (kissing) she was not aware of your status...and that you didn't tell her until AFTER y'all "kissed".

The court agreed that you did not notify her prior to y'all being intimate but you're saying from the interviews/what's on paper that it was proven she knew.

Is all of the above correct or am I off?

In relationships moving forward how soon do you disclose your status?

Also...when discussing relationships as a HIV infected person (if you discuss these things) what do you say when it comes to dating as a HIV male or someone that may end up dating a HIV infected person? I know it's not a "death sentence" anymore BUT it's still a std and just like any other std nobody really wants to get them so for most people (including myself) if I hear up front someone has one I'm going the other way.

Other than the obvious response, "well that's your choice to go the other way"...what else would you say?

Oh and Good Mernting y'all!!
